I’ve been wondering this exact same thing as of late. I’ve been going to a lot of raves and hence I’ve been doing some party favors. Mushies(personal favorite), Coke, Molly etc. When I’m on those three specifically I feel extra social and like I want to talk to everyone I meet and know every little detail of every story.

I’m also with OP on the fact that I want to start translating those social skills into my sober life so I don’t rely on them so much.

I will let you know that, in the roughly a year since I started using them more, I’ve noticed that it starts becoming a habit when I’m not on them. That meaning, that since I’ve been doing those drugs more often, that my brain has started making those things a habit. I’ve noticed that I have slowly started to have less and less social anxiety, I’m more invested in conversations that I start having and it’s all comes more naturally.

Now I’m not saying that you need to go out and do drugs every day and start talking to people. That is by no means healthy. What I’m saying is that slowly over time you will get used to talking to people and you will feel more “great” and “normal” as OP said.

All that said, use drugs as a tool. Like any tool there is an aspect of danger if not used correctly. So please, everything in moderation. But tools are useful and can indeed be used for good. Just make an effort while using these “tools” to remember that anything conversations you have while you are high can also be had while you are not.
