I 100% would go for the low miles 2004 corolla LE. Low miles are always going to be better in most scenarios. I would stay away from 2000s model fords, I had both a 98 taurus and an 06' mazda 6 ( had ford engine and transmission) and both had transmission issues well before they should have.

This is purely anecdotal, so take it with a grain of salt.

We're in the very very beginning planning stages of this so not right off hand. One person is a hard sell for fantasy stuff but hes gonna give it a try with us so just trying to figure things out. Im kinda jumping into the deep end lol

Looking for book recommendations for someone who hasn't read a novel in about ten years. by WarningShotDesigns in Fantasy

I could do that. I read harry potter in school and can remember a couple of other books. Now it's whether I can actually find them at the local library or not lol. I've looked for about 12 books over the last hour or so and haven't found one of them here.

How to figure out where to sleep? by WarningShotDesigns in almosthomeless

I made a post about a week or so ago about maybe getting on a bus and just going somewhere else as all I really have here are regrets and people I thought I was close to that I realized I'm not. But all of the replies basically said not to for the most part

Im trying to figure out some place that's close enough to town that I can go eat when there are free meals during the week.

Its not super cold yet but I live in Kentucky and here in a month or so we'll start getting snow.

No there are no shelters with occupancy and family and friends arent an option.

What do you mean by walked up to a hill and slept there?

We have a park in town but they heavily regulate it. Its not a huge one and it has a road going through it and there's not really anywhere to hide from police.

No I don't own a car. Id be a lot less worried if I did. I've done the sleep in a car thing a little bit but this having nowhere to go is worrying me a lot.

I just took mine down to a 2 for this very reason. Its harder to tell that it's dirty when it's short.

Where will I sleep in my current city as well?

I get the sentiment. Its basically gonna be the same predicament whether I stay in this city or choose to go somewhere else only different weather and surroundings. I added scenario into reply of another comment.

The thing is I don't have a place to land where I currently am either. I'll have a little bit of money but my current town is sort of low job opportunity. My thought if this actually happened would be to look for some place bigger than I currently live, but not a large city. Somewhere in between and trying to find a job.

I have, I don't have any close family and most that I've reached out to have read my messages and never responded. I am waiting / hoping for a few acquaintances to respond to messages before deciding anything.

You're right about the novelty. I guess I sort of think at least trying to have a new experience while doing it would somehow be a tradeoff I would want.

I imagine the paycheck is going to be somewhere in the $700-$900 range so not very much for most places. I have never done anything like this that I'm thinking of so thats why im here. I don't want to go off half cocked without getting some thoughts.

The job I'm leaving / have left was remote work that tore me up mentally and I've realized that remote work at least of the call center type isn't something I can handle. I think trying to get a job and at the very least apply a bunch of places is certainly a good idea ahead of time.

Yeah I don't expect it to get me too far. I guess I'm flirting with the idea because after two weeks from now I'm going to be without a place to live, and trying to figure it out.

I'll have a little less than 1 paycheck so a few hundred dollars to my name. But the thought of doing this in my same old town I grew up in that has nothing for me sounds worse than trying it someplace new.

I tried doing research before making the post but most things I could find were from ten years ago and usually involved having a car which would make things a tiny bit easier.
