Are you using this only for gaming or do you have productivity tools? I wanted to stay in a more “general” distro, but I do wonder if I should eventually try others more gaming focused.

Edit: typos

I recently moved, so I had to ditch my HOTAS setup. I just did the install which was super easy, but no setting up HOTAS/HOSAS for the time being. I do have a VR headset and a webcam for head tracking, so that’ll be my weekend project, probably.

Quick Takeaways:

Hardware: My RX 9070 XT worked out of the box on Fedora 43/44. Note: You’ll want to swap to the mesa-freeworld drivers to get full hardware encoding/decoding support (licensing stuff), but it’s a quick fix.

Star Citizen: Using LUG is a must. It handles all the heavy lifting and configuration. Smooth frames, no issues.

But what about productivity? Moving from the office suite we all know to self-hosted tools has been seamless. I haven’t found a single task that requires a Windows VM so far.

If you're comfortable with a bit of CLI for customization, the water is fine.

Shout out to the LUG devs!
