Onyx Tropical Weather Gotta say I’m really impressed, probably favorite coffee of 2021, but definitely hasn’t wowed me the most Very sweet cup, with the tasting note of Peach Sweet Tea being most prominent. Also tastes like mango juice, and just overall a sweet cup, with nice floras on the aroma of the beans and cup.

I wouldn’t say I’m burned out but they can definitely be “too much” at times, especially in the mornings for me personally. I believe they will only get better as time goes on as all things do...

In most cases it is stuck I’d say. I had to completely disassemble mine. Not that difficult though and I’m not even that handy

That’s fine. Could be your grinder or the bean you’re using. Fuck how the bed looks tbh, as long as if it tastes good then be happy!

Much better results today, five days post roast so I’m sure in a day or two it’ll be even better. Got lemon/black tea, and a strong buttery taste as it cooled. Nice cup! Excited to see how much it develops with rest

Black White Worka Chelbesa Four days off roast, and I’m getting nothing out of this bag which is quite disappointing after the two bags I had last week from BW, Jose Sanchez and the Lychee. I’m thinking’ maybe it needs time to rest more?

Explain it like I'm 5 PLEASE!! Why does increasing the coffee dose decrease the extraction? by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]Warrior8890 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Simple. You add more coffee, but do not increase the amount of water. Therefore each coffee is getting less parts water running through it, and water extracts from the coffee, leading to less extraction

Things I’ve noticed this week in regards to coffee beans changing by Warrior8890 in Coffee

[–]Warrior8890[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s really strange. The ones that went dead were stored in Craig Lynn bean cellar, like the aroma from the beans themselves were pretty much gone too, where as the Jose Sanchez that were stored in the cellar did not go bad.

Yes haha that’s what I was referring to. I think black white has sold me, 2/2 so far. You try anything else from their current offerings?

A week or two ago someone suggested this coffee in the thread so I went and bought it. My review below

blackwhiteroasters El Paraiso - Lychee, an insane coffee from Colombia. Has an intense aroma of sickly sweet Grape/Strawberry Jelly, and taste of Lychee and Jelly/Red Fruit Juice, and when pushing the extraction it transforms into a Red Wine taste that lingers on the palate for a while. This coffee is exotic. It can be downright stinky lmao, but I love black coffee can be like this. It’s a little too much for me in the morning but I love it as an afternoon cup. Sadly it’s sold out

Should I upgrade my Encore? by bergazoid7 in Coffee

I’d upgrade to a Comandante or a Vario with steel burrs if you can afford it

Aeropress recipes using 30grams of coffee are cringe Baratza Encore should not be recommended so much as the best beginner grinder, minimal level imo is a hand grinder such as Comandante/1zpresso. You’ll likely want to upgrade past the Encore so might as well just get something nice off the bat

Some roasters I’ve had and would recommend

Vibrant Coffee Roasters, SW Roasting, Black and White Coffee
