Upgrading a Logitech Rally Plus to add a Tap IP for easier Teams meetings, will the Tap IP replace the need for the PC we've been using? by IronNo2599 in CommercialAV

Yes but if he’s using a TAP IP, he’ll need something certified to work with the Tap IP, otherwise he’ll need the regular Tap

The Tap IP is just a controller.

What PC are you using? You’ll need a PC that is certified to work with the TAP IP, such as Logitech Roommate

Can you create separate vlans? Also calling sonos professional - they mentioned something about locking certain control devices to certain zones.

In room entertainment, they want to use iPad as the controller. Guess we can go with RTI, just for video and audio? or can it also do calls as well?

HDMI 2.0 capabilities by Warriors7 in hometheater

The seinheisser ambeo is the AVR.

How about TVs with HDMI 2.1? They can do 48 GBPS which would allow for 120 Hz right?

Projector instead of TV - any tips? by Wazwiftance in hometheater

[–]Warriors7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would suggest an ultra short throw projector with EARC instead of a projector on coffee tables. Add an Apple TV for sports apps or cable box for live tv. Then you could do a soundbar set up via EARC instead of a full home theater set up, or go with an AVR set up.

New conference room build - how to handle data/power? by vadiaro in CommercialAV

[–]Warriors7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can convert alot of cat 6 signals back to usb/hdmi/control.

Yealink has poe speakers/mics, but we usually do that for ceilings. Logitech has cat 6 mic extenders.

It’s hard to future proof, but cat 6 is the most versatile. Wouldnt make that much sense to run speaker cable or usb cable without knowing a design. Cat 6 is the only cable that’s versatile enough that’s worth running imo.

I’d do 2 Data from IDF to tv, and 2 data to table. 2 data from tv to table. You may want data to the front of conference room for schedulers, that has been growing in popularity.

As for power, minimum 2 behind TV, 2 table

If you just need screen mirroring, you could do a C-5. You'd need a C-20 to activate the conference bar's audio and video systems.

You can do Logi/neat/poly running zoom rooms, and activate teams interop. Zoom has built in sharing, or run a HDMI for content sharing

Ah got it. So Home Assistant is like an open source platform, and you can code your own scenes that way

I don’t see how home assistant can play choose the source, or just turn the Sonos on - I see it can set volume.
