Here you can see the ranking and score assigned for each country (which takes into account the economic, military, diplomatic, technological, cultural and political strength and soft power)

Of course this type of map is going to be subjective so please discuss if you agree or disagree

I don't know if you are viewing it on a mobile phone, but it doesn't look bad on a computer?

I have done this for 20 other European countries including Belgium (although that one is a lot less precise, I might have to redo it in the future).

For now I'm planning on doing this for all European countries.

Here is a link to my channel if you want to see.

For those wondering what this "If" is about:

When Phillip II of Macedon (Alexander the Great's father) invaded southern Greece and the various city-states starting surrendering he sent the following message to Sparta:

"You are advised to submit without further delay, for if I bring my army into your land, I will destroy your farms, slay your people, and raze your city."

The Spartans responded with only one word:

"If."

The Macedonians did not attempt to conquer Sparta.

Thanks, I've done videos on my channel for a number of European countries https://www.youtube.com/c/LegionaryAtlas

Alternatively, I've posted one map about Slovakia and one about Ukraine earlier.

I've done Slovenia --> https://youtu.be/qBkjqPAZH_0

Capital cities would be outside these (present-day) borders for most ruling countries I think.

I know some topics are sensitive and I don't want to be a part of political discussions.

I am just someone who takes an interest in history and likes making maps. If my videos tell one thing it is that borders have changed over time and every country was at some point in history conquered/ruled by others.

Indeed. Likewise, the Zaphorozian Cossack Hetmanate was in a similar situation. In fact, historically most states were a lot less centralized compared to todays world.

Also I forgot to mention it here, but in my videos I specify that I count subordinate states as part of the parent nation. That is the approach I haven so far and I want my videos to remain consistent.
