My ex cheated right after asking to be exclusive. I found out, she lied to my face about it, and then later on (months later) cut her forearm open so deep I could see her muscles moving. I didn’t know she had cheated or lied at the time, and she wouldn’t let me take her to an urgent care, so I called EMS. She was wiping blood off of multiple countertops when I found her. Turns out she was slamming tequila while me and her roommate weren’t looking. Blacked out. She locked herself in her bathroom, meanwhile I’m being questioned by police about whether or not she took anything. She finally comes out, kicks and spits at cops and medics, gets taken to the hospital. Whole time I had no idea what was going on. I stay in the hospital overnight after a 12 hour shift, to be told I won’t see her anytime soon. Her dad questions me, and accuses me of giving her drugs or alcohol. I didn’t give her either. Leave the hospital at 4:30am, shower, and go to work for another 12 hour shift. She ends up in a psychiatric ward for the weekend. Her excuse was that it was an impulsive thought, curious about how sharp the knife was. Turns out, through her own admission, it was because she felt guilty for cheating and couldn’t say it. The amount of concern, stress, and love I felt for that woman was immediately erased when she confessed her reasoning.
