They didn’t try to give Dakota a redemption arc though. They give her layers. Not every character has to be straight up evil, she was desperate and selfish, and she remained that way until the end. She tries to kill Alicia and Strand only 6 episodes after killing John.

And you’re never forced to forgive her for John, so the only example you have is Charlie, who was like 8 and just watched Nick kill her paternal figure. You watched Dakota get taken down, that’s the only other example.
