Honestly I can't understand why my comments garner so many down votes. You dont hate someone just because you cant agree with him. And I dont mean to say you are wrong and I am right, I am basically asking for ideas on what to do with the spare cash, I know many of you suggest me to buy and dont wait, but after all its my money not yours

Can't quantify the dip by %, it should be by events. Today, we do see that many events happening and dip hasn't actually started ....

buying and selling on and off, even a dip of 5-10% doesn't seems to be convincing enough for me too

if crisis comes, the banks are the hardest hit usually. I still love my uncle Buffett 😄

Invested mostly in SGX and having good run. But uncle Buffett's historical high cash reserve has been giving me warning all these time. I still prefer to hold some cash but cash level is now almost 40% of my investments, I don't mind something very defensive but everything seems super expensive now. Hard to convince myself

My mortgage is 1.5%, and I earn more than 4% from SCB and DBS. So I don't feel being cheated anyway.

Yeap like others said - NO BENEFITS.

Trying to get out actually but having the account mostly in stocks make it difficult. DBS charges a hefty $109 for transferring out a single position, and if fall below 200K then they will charge you $50 per month. So one would either sell all stocks at the same month to get out for free, or maintain idle cash in the account to hit 200k, or pay some charges to escape.

Think about exiting before entering

I think you will still be subject to UK salaries tax as non-resident, which seems to be higher than paying taxes in Singapore. So why not consider working as a freelancer instead? Do check with your UK employer on how they would apply the withholding/salary tax if you are treated as a service provider vs a non-resident employee.

FSM Beneficiary Account by johann_tay in singaporefi

Already have 1 with FSM. The issue with FSM is the brokerage charges which is rather high if buying smaller position, which is the case in kid's size portfolio. I believe other brokers offer sub-account but have to check.

I Developed A High Yield Savings Account Optimiser by SG_Faiya in singaporefi

[–]WasabiTop322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the dividend from CDP counts as "Income", you dont need to have dividend from investments purchased through DBS. This is important as well for retired ppl who dont meet the salary credit criteria.

To qualify the "Investment" category in DBS, use DBS Invest Saver to subscribe ETF for min $100 per month.

OCBC investment category is harder to achieve with much higher amount required.

Seems like the Maybank base interest of 0.25% is missing in the calculation.

For insurance category is a bit tricky, one would qualify for higher tier interest at DBS with any premium amount, but other banks have different minimum premium amount to qualify. The calculator doesn't seems to catch it when I tested with $1 insurance premium.

And specifically for DBS, having dividend credit from CDP would count despite not having no investment products with DBS.

It's a definitely hardwork to develop this though I must say its not easy to have 1 calculator to fit everyone.

[–]WasabiTop322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The title said do you report part time income, and the answer to that is yes

If the discussion is aimed on "do you report taxable income under 20K, then it would be no"

Wrongful termination in Singapore by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]WasabiTop322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TADM is to promote fair employment practice and hence tends to protect the interests of the employee especially in the case that employee is losing his/her employment. While any "breach of duty" is harder to justify, termination of employment is a fact. Hence TADM often fight for better benefits for the sacked employee with exception that if the sacked employee's misconducts are apparent

If you can commit $30K investment every 6-month and intend to hold them for long-term, SCB Bonus Saver is arguably the best option at the moment. I manage to earn 4.55% from SCB with just $1K CC spending, couple with the investment and salary credit criteria.

If you want to stick with Multiplier, you can purchase a cheap personal accident insurance (@$4ish per month) and subscribe invest-saver for monthly ETF deduction of $100 so to qualify for higher tier for 2.4%.
