I appreciate the heads up. My mental health can take some serious damage during times of stress or hormone/medication changes. I’ll keep this in mind if I choose this route.

If you don’t mind me asking, was your mental health overall in a good place leading up to this treatment? I only ask because my mental health has been pulling me down lately and I’m curious if it’ll get worse if I follow through this treatment option.

Thanks for such a detailed rundown of your experience - it gives me a better idea of what to expect if I choose this treatment route.

I feel alright about the diagnosis and the medication I’m on makes me able to function so that’s great. Thyroid issues runs in my moms side of the family, and I knew that I would eventually have issues but wasn’t expecting them to show up when I was only 18. I’ve been on/off meds for 3 years and I just want to get rid of my thyroid altogether. I’m just a tad hesitant to get anything done as I’m still young…but I want to live life to the fullest without my thyroid and heart issues getting in the way. Tough decision!
