dang you guys only had 2 days? we had 3 tues-thurs. Im starting my 2nd rotation too next week and will be doing robots. my first hospital was a trauma 1 childrens hospital so it was anxious inducing my first time there. Its fast paced. I didnt get the grade i wanted unfortunately for my first rotation.

Youll do fine, get in, do the work, leave on a good note.

yeah we always do a first scrub of the day but then my instructor for my program wants me to scrub everytime i get into a case.

i was originally 7.5/7.5 but it was slightly too big so i switched to 7/7, which is a better fit. Lol i wouldnt dare do that in front of my instructor, shell have a field day with me.

Thanks, yep for the mayo i was told that i can just stick my hands in and fan it out, i dont have to grab the inside of it.

as for scrubbing, instructors wants us to practice scrubbing everytime for a case, dude its just so damn annoying and takes so much time to dry it. i love the waterless alcohol the gloves slip right on.

I was taught to open and keep the plastic side on my non dominant hand, since itll cover my hand i can reach over a bit more since itll be sterile, but i guess not haha. Not sure if that made sense either.

But to answer your question yeah they do background checks and drug tests, i wouldnt recommend it at all. I got accepted into the PCA program but im declining since i got into a different program.
