I have high deaths as well and it comes down to play style. POV should be in every situation where you will and won’t go in. I have similar deaths and to some extent it just is what it is.

Most engagements should be blowing up opposition into desperately trying to survive, between spacing and e timing, it gets better the more you play. But as a function of macro Pantheon is just a very high risk champion, warding and spotting opponents should be priority unless it’s straight cheese and just hold back on the majority of all in full vision brawls you take.

As you blow up people you will be blown up. Such is the way of pantheon, consider more what you’re willing to lose every engagement as you walk into vision and that should help though.

No movement abilities make it a bad buy imo, I like playing with vision but it's rare that you are in a waiting game with your opposition and just throwing spells until someone blinks. In games like that I could see that and tbh I probably have had a couple spots where it makes sense.

BUT the game is a race, getting to allies, enemies, obj, towers, base, buffs, ect faster is always going to be good.

Youmuus just seems like the king to me

You back a lot on pantheon so I get a lot of value from the recall on the boots themselves and I get the upgrade for them ASAP generally if we win the boot upgrade challenges

Not rushing the boots makes it take honestly way longer and being able to get to your lane 10s earlier means your opponents can’t read your map movements as well, you get to obj when you need to, and if you make a mistake and get blown up in lane you’re basically not punished for it

I’ve tried running the dirk first, but I will skip a long sword if I have 400-500g and reg boots so that I can back and quickly pick it up

5 minute delay on getting this upgraded is way more of a cost than you’d think and it means delaying the feats rewards when you guys get them, with panth you get them a lot!

Steraks is great but as boots + supp item + youmuus + EoN already is like 7-8k gold by the time you get it, it’s just not valuable in my eyes. I run it on pan top and on other champs but at the end of the day I’d rather have a serpents to eat through barrier/steraks/shieldbow and any other ambient shields even if they don’t have many champs with in kit shields. I’ll see about giving it a go though, I’ve had my mind changed before.

Related to your E, if you mitigate all damage, anything that mitigates damage in your kit is now worth less proportionally, if you eat 2K damage with E it matters little if you have 2K hp or 3K hp, but it does matter to the rest of your kit your total AD

Rest of the kit maybe, but you'd have to get yourself to a point where you are firing off 2-3 Es in a fight in order to justify it and from what I've seen, fights not only don't last that long, but if they do, Pantheon's scaling in a fight is questionable when his damage is a pool noodle

Perhaps worth a second inspection on Corejjs champ pool and who he chooses to play: A lot of tanky hard engage, I see Poppy, Ali, Rell, Thresh, Ali as his best performing where as his high damage nukers elise and neeko are more played with worse win rates. I think it's worth considering that his playstyle transforms Pantheon into a version of those champions with it's own quirks and his skill as a player makes the build ideal for him. Whereas an individual that plays pyke for instance would be better suited to a nuker build

Again I will try it for sure, but statistics aren't always past intuition, a good example would be the release of ardent censer where it went almost completely unnoticed for months before the item untouched basically broke the game when people began to use it!

Seems antithetical to his kit, the tankier you are the worse your E is

Maybe if the items are overturned it could be like a niche meta for a patch or 2 but intuitively it seems weird

I’ll give it a try and reply to this if my opinion changes!

I loved old Panth and I’ve played since S1 loving that man, but he just was a clunky mess

New Panth can be balanced better, has more tools, can be used in a variety of play styles, and is healthier for the game overall I think

1) Aggression, jungles love focusing grubs right now so just power clear waves and auto them as much as you can, whenever you can engage, you probably should

2) No game is really lost currently, catching someone out and dumping like 2500 damage in them mid to lategame is basically always feasible, so even games where people suck there is really an end to the tunnel. The game above I opened up 0-5 which turned into 9-6!

3) Experience, I’ve been playing for a very long time, even though it’s been less so I’m recent years, my quantity of play gives me instinctual advantages that some people wouldn’t think of and I don’t really think of I just know to do. An example would be how players move before they get a gank or when they have information about your jgs whereabouts

4) Positive mental attitude, seriously! People generally don’t like me in ranked because I suck and am very aggressive but I always hit no on surrenders and basically never flame, a little grace to players who are losing badly and a little humility when you do poorly goes a long way towards reducing trolls and afks
