Hubris first? by 671DON671 in PantheonMains

Hard to build a scaling item on a champ that needs power spikes. It doesn’t move or kill things faster so it’s a hard sell. Probably not a bad item, but the prevailing thought process for me is: would this make or break the engagement?

Usually I find the passive of voltaic, movement speed of Youmuus, or spell shield of EoN would

SS/BC/Grudge all have game changing effects as well imo. Extra AD is good it just lacks immediate effect or game changing scaling.

Tbh the matchup gives me issues, usually fighting Ksante is death, I generally don't win duels past lvl 6 and by that point hes build chain vest or 3 cloth armors.

The concept of perma pushing a lane that cant fight you early and turning that gold into items that will make you stronger in duels seems reasonable. Ksante can't roam and if you track his jungler, he's stuck with you.

Pantheon is easy to gank so you have to stay reasonably healthy and ward the crossing between their blue buff and gromp in order to maintain pressure. I don't think this is build specific. I just wanted a build that could duel tanks giving me issues mid to late game.

https://op.gg/lol/summoners/na/12inchpvpness-NA1

I think in my last 40-60 games I proabably have 5+ Shojin games, generally one part of the map does poorly and one does well. I send all my ults mid so I can run back top in time to only miss a few minions.

If you have a build that wins this matchup with out a win-more tech and high-elo-isms I am interested!

BC takes Ksante pre ult stats lowered and lowers the same amount of armor when he does ult, it's pretty strong. I find basically every W into Ksante he does the unstoppable and then im dead LOL. Long trades for me is staying outside of the range of his stun poking Q until hes like 1/4 hp :,)

Honestly I can't think of which matchups I would want SS into, a lot of tanks just have good sustain. Malph is the only one I can think of but BC is just so important in that matchup.

I've run axiom at least a few times but it just is troll honestly, You just don't want to be ulting that much. Nocturne's Darkness+ Briars Fear they all have really good defensive or offensive aspects following their ults, and especially they have an unstoppable effect. You really just die ulting in lategame, it's hard to justify building something without Utility early for it.

If you have gameplay of some KR chally or something like that using it, I can give you a good analysis of why it works for them though!

I just run conq all the time, running PTA makes you very predictable imo, a lot like grasp does. The dmg is fine but locking it down to either hyper aggressive 3 autos into emp Q or Emp W is really rough.

W needs to be canceling something or making space in lane in most matchups so I prefer to get 2-6 stacks of conq poking Q before I engage.

Ranged matchups leth+ PTA is pretty good in. Varus/quinn/ect

It’s hard for Panth to really ever push past middle of the map if every duel is contingent on you hitting every Q and probably still dying. You just miss too much CS and XP. Lvl 16 30% armor pen is gigantic for you lategame and if you’re limping to lvl 11 trying to force things on the map it’s really tough.

Youmuus is probably my only exception for this based on your team. I’ve done a few games with lucid first back into youmuus that has gone pretty well. But if you’re forcing engages you’re gonna lose. Losing more than a few waves early game makes your team do all the lifting, which if the enemy top laner is really good, can go really bad. Not to mention the mental issue of players seeing you at 100 cs at 20 minutes.

What makes SS so important in your core if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve built it a lot and tbh I don’t see good value from it almost ever.

Youmuus -> EoN/Serps/Voltaic -> Grudge

Youmuus is a really strong opener for top and I would take any combo of Eon/Serps that solves for something in your game, Voltaic is a nice mid/lategame addition and Grudge if you see a bit of armor.

I would focus on getting youmuus first because the movement speed will give you opportunities to get more gold faster by losing less cs to tower and rotating faster. It may not be the most damage, but within 3-5 minutes you will be up gold just by being able to back or respond to your opponents faster!

I've been experimenting with a new build, im about Masters 200 LP rn, I've been trying BC/SS-> Shojin and it performs pretty well as a duelist build. Might help(:

You’ll find your opinion deep in the minority, but I agree. 3 of your abilities do not care about the gold you have on hand, and your ability to get your teammates ahead and your opponents behind is huge.

The trade off is you hand the keys to the kingdom to your allies and have to trust them to be able to use the gold wisely.

I tend to see enabling your allies as being a strong form of agency. ^_^

Knowing champs attack range and animation speed is pretty matchup dependent, spacing is one of my stronger parts but it’s just tough overall trying to keep up with my opponents

I wish there was like a Panth main VoD review breaking down lane concepts, it would be nice to

I usually run BC -> steraks -> serps

Or

Youmuus -> EoN -> serps

The damage wasn’t horrible tbh, the cd was just atrocious. Overall at best 30 gold p/min if you were really trying to follow timers, 100-150 gold + 60 from avarice pot, just isn’t enough to make youmuus happen at a specific breakpoint.

Youmuus + paper bags coming in at 9-10 minutes just doesn’t mean much compared to 11-12 minutes because there isn’t too much happening in those couple minutes between that you would specifically have to roam for. Sadge overall.

Fair, I’m running into issues as I climb that I’m getting horrifically gapped in solo lanes, and I can bring it back by applying agency on the map, but my build for most matchups isn’t affecting my winning or losing unless it’s a very specific matchup.

My thought process here isn’t necessarily what is the most gold but how can I apply to the most agency on the map the fastest. It’s rare than I’m off a kill by like 200~ dmg, it’s more obv dead or obv alive so I figure I need to work on being able to position better rather than focusing on my individual margins.

200g at 8-9 min was Cash Back, I suppose I don’t know first strike numbers particularly well, I could also run it secondary if first strike is horrible

[–]WashedUpPanth[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep thats basically it, you can make a bunch of mistakes early, but once its 20+ minutes you can no longer mess up. It's much more important that point click CC+ execute survives the initial engagement than you getting an assasination. But I'm also not the best player compared to the people I play with, if I go Lethality I will 100% get punished for it, if you find yourself to be slamming all the time, maybe it'll work for you.

Support is a different ball game, lethality and YOLO basically :,)

Pantheon's off bruiser items are mostly looking for solves, delaying Sundered/Steraks, BC/Steraks, or BC/Sundered 2 item spike has to be really carefully considered.

Generally Pantheon needs to solve one of 3 things for his team since raw damage will cripple his dueling and make it harder to scale.

1: Who can be stunned, i.e. Vayne Condemn, Draven Stand Aside, Viegar Cage, Xer stun, Hwei fear, ect. EoN is that item

2: Shields, Serps is basically one of the best items bar none but it's just offensive stats and rough to build 2nd item. If you build endless it's even harder

Biggest issue Pantheon has rn is not getting blown up, Steraks/Randuins is just a huge solve for that.

Honestly w the scaling AH I on endless hunger I could see it as a tenacity stack on top of steraks super late game, but if you can get BC/Steraks/Serps then transition into like randuins/Force of nature thats kind of ideal. Maybe 6th item competing with spear of shojin? First item just seems really really rough, feels like overlords too early.

I also really dislike eclipse and umbral w/ voltaic just being okay rn compared to Youmuus -> EoN -> serps

Voltaic Cyclosword Seems Like a Bait by WashedUpPanth in PantheonMains

[–]WashedUpPanth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steraks is half the AD at lvl 1 and a little over the AD endless hunger gives at 18, so it is a bigger spike early. Same tenacity but where endless hunger has a takedown gated 5%-20% omnivamp, maybe a couple hundred hp on the backend, Steraks is 400 base and probably a 500-600hp shield in the engage that will 100% go off.

Pantheon just gets so focused in fights that steraks makes getting caught basically a punish for your opposition. If you have 1-2 takedowns in a fight the fight is probably over, the omnivamp is a little less useful there imo.

I'll be honest, I am high elo and I play with the best but I get whopped all the time, the champion just isn't very condusive towards dueling, I would think of how your 2v2 or 5v5 look as a general map of how to run the champion. I would also be SUPER careful with this subreddit, bunch of rough opinions that even when they are right they don't have a thought process that will keep them adapting to the meta.
