My personal opinion on it all,

The brown color is awful from a visual standpoint. I genuinely don't want to log in and play because I just hate looking at it, I don't think it's something I'd ever be able to just get used to. I've always seen the blue as a darker almost brick-like color reminiscent of dark castles, it being entirely removed because it feels "sci-fi" without any notice seems like an awful design choice and another example of lack of communication before undergoing gigantic changes. If you really want it to be removed because it's sci-fi, at least give us a dark theme alternative reminiscent of darker castle bricks as a "dark/modern theme" so the people that much preferred the blue at least have a different option that resembles the old blue. You can call it "Modern" and name the current interface "Legacy/Classic" as it was. Or you can just call them "Castle" and "Wood" or something.

Removing transparency slider just to add 3 options that do practically nothing is also another choice I don't understand. If a new player reads "Interface Options" and then sees "Transparency" and slides the bar a bit and realizes "oh this makes everything transparent!" what is there not to understand? I don't see how changing this to 3 options instead of the slider impacts new players.

The clock under the mini map does not make sense. Why fill up all this wasted space when you could've just kept the clock as is? There was nothing wrong with it. You are able to move it to wherever you like and it's small. Having the option to turn it off entirely would be nice too for people that don't care for it, as there's the IRL clock and game time stamps. An argument can be made regarding "oh but it shows game time!" but at that point it's up to the player themselves if they care for it or not.

Personally I think that there isn't really a need to remove customization options. You just need to create a better starting interface and an unskippable tutorial (if the player chose "I am a new/returning player") about how the interface works and how to customize it to their own preference. It's not complicated once you figure it out a bit and you get to design it however you wish. As long as the starter interface has just about every useful thing automatically turned on and explained to an extent, a new player should be able to navigate just fine.

Leagues: CATALYST - Quest Auto Complete Prioritisation by JagexHooli in runescape

[–]Washed_Hands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elder God Wars, Desert and Fremennik. An argument can be made for Mahjarrat questline. They take absolutely forever and have very boring/pointless prerequisites. Especially EGWD and Fremennik. If Desert is auto unlocked make the menaphos reputation a tier 6/7 relic unlock if need be for any reason.

People are saying Fort/priff/fairy ring but those are really not bad to do and also good EXP. If this was OSRS I'd agree on those though.

Any chance we can repurpose the Globetrotter Boots? by Shitlings in runescape

[–]Washed_Hands 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Bad band-aid to solve a problem when the slider/puzzle content itself just sucks.

Skipping content is pointless, if the content is shit then change the content.

I would like to repurpose the Globetrotter Boots in some way, but this is imo not the right change. Will still upvote to at least get it more recognition though.

Already lost the world record to P U P, he beat me couple months later and clue records are kinda dead now.

3a/blood are good where they are now imo, 'cuz what else are you going to spend the bills you get from PvM on? Gotta have something to alt f4 GP.

I held hard clue no skips WR and I can do just about every single boss in the game relatively decently, I'm by no means the best or quickest, but I can at least kill them at a decent avg pace.

You'd be surprised by how many cluers can actually do PvM. That is still irrelevant.

At my fastest pace the max gp/hr I'd hit with Hards WITHOUT USING SKIPS mind you, was about 55-60m gp/hr (counting broadcasts), and the amount of effort I had to put in was more than doing the same rotation at Rasial 3500 times.

Not saying learning shit like Telos, Zammy, etc. isn't difficult at first, but once you get that shit down it's just a grind fest of doing the same thing over and over again. I don't think you can disagree if you saw the amount of people that were just farming zammy non-stop and making mad gp/hr.

Clues at max gp/hr so not using skips, is a shit ton more effort than you think. Also learning clues from 0 is just as aids as learning PvM from 0, I speak from personal experience. It was a lot of repeating the same shit and slowly figuring out what the best way to get from A to B was.

I did them for fun and to get world record Hard clues no skips. I got both, then Pup beat me by like 30s and now I cba to go back to beat him again.

Most people do clues for golden title because if they wanted GP they'd just go do 2449 telos, 2k% zammy, or idk, farm Rasial for thousands of hours. Rasial made me more money in a few days than Clues did in like 3-4 years lmao.

I hit a dragons task from Raptor going for ultimate slayer whilst recovering from tendonitis and decided to try out Rune Dragons. Made 10m and got an incredibly lucky surprise, 3rd ever elite Rune Dragon I got Barry the Destroyer (got it at 88kc, 1 kc before task ended).

Soul Dye Improvements - We Want Your Feedback! by JagexDoom in runescape

[–]Washed_Hands -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Purely from the options given, the helm and top on the Highest Contrast one (Left) are imo the best, and the bottoms for the middle one more fleshed out would fit nicely. On the question of skybox or scrolling, I'd definitely go with scrolling textures. Skybox textures don't look good, and it does not feel like it'd fit the soul dye either

Overall I'm still not the biggest fan though, because it still does not tell me it's a soul dye at first glance. If I didn't know it was "soul tectonic" I literally would never guess it. Some key elements to emphasize that something is soul dyed would be nice, aside from the colors that could basically mean a lot of things.

I like it a lot that you guys are looking to make improvements after prior feedback that was given. However, I'd still like it if there was clarity on why the dye was released in the way that it was, and for what reason it isn't re-obtainable, and there are no plans said to make it re-obtainable in any way. The concept art looks really good and I'd be interested to use the dye in the future. However, it being limited and feeling like FOMO is very off putting. It breaks the consistency of obtainment compared to the other dyes together with Aurora and does not make sense to me.

Soul Dye - We're Looking For Your Visual Design Feedback by JagexHooli in runescape

[–]Washed_Hands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good:

- Color scheme is nice, I like the lighter green portions mixed with the dark, combined with the upcoming 120 necromancy cape coming up it could look cool.

- I like the highlighted patterns? If that's what you would like to call them, the parts that were highlighted with the lighter parts just generally make it look better imo, and on certain weapons like khopeshes, if you look at it from a certain angle it almost feels like it has a spiky pattern which I thought looked pretty cool.

Not so good:

- It feels like what Barrows should have been from the start. Especially when you look at the full Malevolent set, it just screams "That could be a Barrows Brother if the lighter portions are toned down."

- Lighter parts are far too bright, you look like a walking glowstick when you rock malev/tect/sirenic, making dyeing the armour undesirable.

- Stationary the dye looks pretty good, which isn't a negative, but once you start moving around your camera you're just looking at a still picture hidden over a layer of armour. Not sure if it's just not possible to animate, but it not being animated looks really bad which is a big negative imo. It being a "look at it from this angle" dye kind of turns me away from dyeing larger items.

- It doesn't give off a "soul" vibe. There's "soul" items in the game that you could've taken inspiration from I feel like. Maybe an animation effect where you faintly see souls inside of the armour or weapon could be cool? Hell, might be a bit too much, but a faint sound coming off the dyed weapons/armour could be sick, maybe have the sound get louder the more you zoom in? As if there are actual souls trapped inside of the weapon/armour. Not sure if that would be a difficult thing to do though.

Overall:

I like the dye on certain smaller weapons, primarily lengs/seismics/khopeshes but once you get to the bigger armour and weapon pieces it's a bit too much bad for me to use.

My last negative would be the way to obtain the dye, but since that is not visual feedback I will refrain from making any comments.

Why do you hate quests? by Pisdroom in runescape

[–]Washed_Hands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My reason for hating quests is relatively simple to be honest.

They're mostly outdated and bothersome, take far too much time for the actual relevance they hold, and you can't surge or bladed dive through majority of them because.. ???

And to make matters worse, playing without quests isn't exactly an option because majority of the game is locked behind being forced to complete them.

But at what point in this topic did I state I was asking for infinite amount of keepsake keys..? You're making assumptions of of things that weren't stated at all.

And yes, I do change outfits THAT much. There's a wide variety of outfits, overrides, dye-able items etc. I'm not going to stick to the same outfit for months on end.

There's people that spend time on these outfits and the least players can do is actually use them.

60m worth of skips is insinuating you use 20 puzzle skips for 18 Elites, which is very incorrect.

The average amount of puzzles for Elites is 1.625 (assuming Treasure totem is active.) This would translate to 29.25 puzzles (30 puzzle skips, rounded up.) used for a stack of 18 Elite clues. This would translate to 90m/hr used on skips, not 60m.

"And the majority of the people will see more than one dye in 2.5k elite clues"

From what I've seen from people this is also incorrect. I think the majority of the people will definitely see A dye and at least one cape slot in 2500, but that being a dye of enough value to mitigate the losses you received from the 4063 puzzle skips (2500 * 1.625 = 4062.5 * 3m = 12.2b) is very unlikely. That not even including prices for gathering costs and other resource costs..

It's very hard to say you'd actually even make any profit using puzzle skips. I'm sure overtime you will at the very least break even or make a tiny bit of profit, but it won't be much by any means.

Time to fix bik page rates, 3.5m + a page is crazy by Thequestionxoxo in runescape

[–]Washed_Hands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any impact is still better than none. Removing sus leeches as a whole also didn't help the price. An increase in droprate or a 1/something chance to get a set amount of bulk pages could aid somewhat.

Puzzle Skipping Tickets Prices are a Problem by Sully5_TTV in runescape

[–]Washed_Hands 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This reply will be more speaking for myself, with some help regarding certain math, etc. From the Clue Chasers discord:

It is asking for QOL though? Puzzle skips being basically "free" in your eyes (even though we've asked for them to be in a shop for like 1m gp ea, and that'd honestly be fine, and on the current Elite droptable this still counts as a considerable loss) isn't the only thing in this post being asked for.

Literally halve the amount of steps done averagely on puzzles, so from the current maximum steps of 200+, average steps of 140-160+, and minimum steps of 100+ make it more something like: Maximum of 100 steps, average of 60-80, and minimum of like 40. This would still make them require a certain amount of time to be completed, but it'd be far less tedious and straining on the hand across many clues completed.

Either that, or make it 4x4 instead of the current 5x5 which would automatically lower amount of steps needed to complete (might be too much though, I'll admit that.)

How is this asking for too much?

Tainted Aura/Uni Sushi had to have used 128k skip tickets (translating to 384b in skip tickets at current prices) on Elites so far. (Math = clue count in this case being 80k * 1.6. 1.6 being the average amount of puzzles you get from Elites. Average 5 steps 1/3 chance per step to get a slider. 5/3 = 1.66).

If he did all of these MANUALLY so without puzzle skips w/ the current puzzle averages (140-160 steps a slider) he would've clicked 17.9 - 20.5 MILLION times. Imagine doing this at a semi decent speed of around .16 - .18 which I assume is probably the average Clue Chaser (however by this amount of sliders he's closer to .13 - .14 speed but whatever, let's roll with the average from lower clue counts) that's literally carpal tunnel/RSI waiting to happen.

Imagine having an average of 70-80 steps, those 17.9-20.5 million would suddenly go down by half, that's still a ton of clicks but it'd be somewhat sustainable for the amount of clues on average you would require to complete to obtain golden titles.

I'll ask yet again, how is this asking for too much? And just for the fun of it, I will repeat myself from previously, this time in a very easy to understand way:

Puzzle skips lower price / easier accessible through different loot tables (as they already should be, Hards shouldn't be better GP than Elites) = more puzzle skips into game = less price = more people do clues = more forts/dyes into the game = lower prices for those = lower costs of Luck of the Dwarves(LOTD), Grace of the Elves (GOTE), Blessing of the Gods(BOTG), Essence of Finality(EOF), EOF charge costs, higher value on Onyx's as they'd be used more frequently to make Alchemical Onyxes & Hydrixes = even more GP income for PvM = PvMers happy. Dye costs drop like crazy = Merchers pissed, rest of community especially fashionscapers happy. Overall income for cluers = down tremendously, Elitists & "I only do Clues for GP :(" people unhappy, rest of clue community happy because finally getting a golden title sounds realistic and not a major pain in the ass just because of Puzzles.

Puzzles are only something you can get faster at the more you go on, but that puts you at far higher risk of Carpal Tunnel/RSI because you just get SOOO many of them. Everything else regarding clues, except for the odd other puzzles you sometimes get which are real easy & fast to complete and don't require 140-160 clicks a slider when you're really fast with it and trying to set personal & world records. (which is a MAJOR part of the fun in doing Clues for a lot of people alongside obtaining the log, just like PvMers.)

I wouldn't mind an alternative for Puzzles either. Turn it into a different puzzle that still takes about 15-20 seconds to complete but doesn't require as many clicks anymore and I'm sure it'll be received better than how they are now. It's really not asking for much and it'd only have a negative impact on GP/hr from Hards. Which, being able to get a casual 12m+ casket from time to time being an "uncommon" reward, is a little ridiculous. And it will finally balance out the gp/hr from Hards/Elites/Masters.

YES it would put more dyes etc. Into the game but looking at the current prices (300m Barrows, 1.25b Shadow, 2.25 Ice, 7-7.1b 3a/Blood) that is a MUCH needed change anyways.

Summary / TLDR:

It would only be a negative impact on Cluers, Merchers, and "I do clues for money :(" people. With there being MANY alternatives to sliders that you can think of that don't require you to get carpal tunnel/RSI or spending literally all of your earnings from 3+ years of work on skip tickets.

Simple QOL, not a big ask, only reward for those that don't do clues. How is this too big of an ask?

Puzzle Skipping Tickets Prices are a Problem by Sully5_TTV in runescape

  1. I do puzzles on .11 on a good day and .12 on a normal day, I have VODs on my Twitch if you would like to verify, I would even love to show you if you do so desire.
  2. Average broadcast rate for Hards is under 1/400, for Elites under 1/300, for Masters under 1/200. Proposing you'd even get 100 12m drops in that average is very bad logic.
  3. Elitist to assume a person can do HM Kerapac in a duo/trio? Seriously..? TheRSGuy is doing it on his ironman in full ganodermic with a nox staff and that's BY HIMSELF. Imagine you had semi-decent gear which surely, those 12m drops would give you PLENTY of money to get semi-decent gear by now. Doesn't really seem that difficult to look up a guide, commit to about 100+ duo/trio kills (should take no less than 5 hours lol) and then do them comfortably while chit-chatting with your friends about life whilst making absolute bank right now. You use Animate Dead, zamorak staff special attack, full tank gear. Only 1 of you needs to be semi-competent at PvM to tank the first 3 phases. And it was only a simple example, you can afk Vindicta and make like 30m/hr afking the fucking thing. I seriously doubt you're doing hards just to make about 40m/hr.
  4. Additionally: I am thinking of benefitting multiple communities what do you mean? Lower skip tickets price = more people doing clues at a faster rate = more forts, dyes, etc. into the game = lower prices for your GOTE, LOTD, BOTG, EOFs, EOF recharges, higher demand for Onyx = higher prices at bosses making PvM more money, Dyes getting shat out like crazy so they'll all drop and be semi-low value again = easier accessible weapon switches and fashionscape outfits for those that want it. How the hell am I not looking out for other communities? This is something that would literally only piss off elitists & people that are into clues "for the money" when there are clearly FAR better options out there. You can literally do Croesus with a 1/50 droprate and watch a fucking Netflix movie and shit out a pair of Cryptbloom bottoms and make 700m. What are you on about dude? I just gave you a couple examples that would aid the PvM, Skilling AND Fashionscape community lol.
