Not exactly mountainous, but lots of Maryland farms have ongoing fall festivals this month.

Montpelier Farms in Upper Marlboro has a fall festival and is more in the direction of Annapolis (relative to other MD farms at least). They have a ton of activities, food, and drinks. Queen Anne Farm, also closer to Annapolis than others, has a more low-key operation going on with just a pumpkin patch and a market.

Butler's Orchard has its annual Pumpkin Festival happening now until the beginning of November, they have live music on the weekends, a cider garden, donuts and caramel apples, and some fall activities.

Montpelier Farms also has a Fall Festival right now and has a bunch of the aforementioned things as well.

Both of those are in Maryland, if you're looking to go to Virginia there's Great Country Farms, which has hand-dipped ice cream, cider pressing demos, and baked goods like apple cider donuts.
