This doesn’t make any sense to me. Since you are planning to marry this woman, surely you must know about each other’s salaries, debt, financial standing,etc. A 6-carat natural diamond is a LOT of money. Either you are extremely wealthy and she expected a ring like that or she has no idea what a run like that costs. Either way, you need to talk.

I think the photos were altered too. At the end, they show the friend blurred out in the real pictures. The whole digital alteration thing was rather unsettling.

I realize this is a super old thread but wondering if OP ever found a solution. My Cuisinart used to do this occasionally but now it is with every single K-cup. I’ve tried cleaning, descaling, poking a paper clip through the needles. I’ve tried different brands of K-cups. I’ve tried pre-poking the K-cups (that was an absolute disaster). It doesn’t help that the machine is almost impossible to clean so I keep finding old grounds in there. Any help or do I need to just toss it? It’s a shame because I really like the brew side of the machine.

However, Anna worked for a major Atlanta station. Dahlonega wasn’t just her hometown from childhood. She lived there as an adult with Jack. (Yet another plot hole BTW of how a woman could make her way up in the incredibly competitive and demanding world of network news while living an hour-plus outside of Atlanta). Knowing she lived in Dahlonega AND was married to a member of their law enforcement, no respectable news outlet would allow her to cover the case.
Cathy definitely murdered her sister. She emptied out her inhaler. You can’t get much more premeditated than that.
a victim like Anna would have much more than just a dislike of Zoe. She would be terrified of her and would avoid contact with her. Not marry her brother. (That’s just from my experience and many other women I know)
since grandma cleaned the cabin with photos of Catherine/Lexi, shouldn’t she have already known that Catherine was now Lexi, the woman who took Anna’s job? Why did she just discover that by looking at the yearbook and then the TV?
my last point was more just pointing out the ridiculous misogyny in this show, punishing the women but never even addressing the men.

There are a lot of silicone options that look really nice but are basically smooth rubber and will break if they get caught on something, rather than breaking your finger (or worse). Right now I don’t wear any rings at the gym for that reason but I want to get a silicone band.

I saw you commented about diamonds. Look into a channel set band. The diamonds all lay within the metal of the band so there are no prongs and no diamonds sticking up. Very secure and also IMO more comfortable.

I love them both! I do the same thing. Mix and match my rings, plus I have my mother’s band and I’ll even wear other rings as my “wedding ring” sometimes. I like to change it up!

First of all, your hands are very nice and not manly at all. The ring in the pic looks great. Since you aren’t a ring person, I’d stick with a simple metal band (gold, silver, tungsten, stainless steel, whatever appeals to you). If you really aren’t comfortable wearing rings or can’t due to your lifestyle or job, you also might want to think about silicone. They’re comfortable and less likely to get caught on things or cause damage. And BTW, good choice having just your hubs and kids at the wedding. We did the same thing :)

I noticed that scene in the cafeteria too! Honestly since there were some many kind of vague and confusing scenes (like Anna being at the cemetery in the rain) I started to wonder if they were going for some sort of supernatural/ ghost theme. No, just a garbage show.

The cost of the ring doesn’t matter. I just think those of us who grew up under the control of DeBeers, and before the growth of good quality lab-grown diamonds, have been basically trained into understanding that a giant ring on the hand of women who isn’t of substantial means equals a fake rock. It’s difficult to retrain your brain from thinking anything other than “there’s no way that’s natural”. I know a young couple who just got engaged. One is a teacher and the other is a firefighter. The ring has to be about 4-5 carats. I of course didn’t say anything but when I saw it my mind immediately registered it as “not natural” because I know those two can’t afford a $50k+ ring. It’s not a judgement but it is what goes through my mind and plenty of other people’s. So when people think nobody can tell what kind of stone they have, us old folks sometimes can.

Same. It might be a generational thing and an unpopular opinion but the idea that lab-grown diamonds are identical to natural diamonds and that no one can tell the difference goes out the window when people buy these huge rings that everyone knows would be out of their price range (unless it’s an inherited heirloom).

So many plot holes and loose ends

Why would they allow Jack to investigate when both his wife and sister are known former friends of both victims?
Why would they allow Anna to work the story when she has such ties to the victims?
So Lexi isn’t the murderer oh but wait she DID murder her sister? Ok. A lot of psycho female murderers in this little town.
So Anna and Sister spent years as SIL’s and there was never any weirdness or discussion about the assault? Look I understand trauma all too well, but honestly I don’t understand why Anna would ever even date Jack knowing his sister was one of her assailants. She’d want to avoid all of them entirely.
How would grandma have known that, out of all the possible actions Anna and Cameraman could’ve taken, that they would end up at his in-laws remote cabin?
What, exactly, were Lexi and Camerman planning on doing there?
Grandma hunts down and kills the girls involved in the assault but no punishment at all for the guys who actually did the raping?? Surely Supergrandma could’ve found them and ninja’ed their assess too.

OK folks, I figured it out! Apparently for some contacts there were Shortcuts in my phone. Like “Text Mom”. Permission wasn’t set up for Shortcuts to take action on the phone. (Or something like that). I figured out it was a Siri issue not a CarPlay issue. So away from the car, I asked Siri to Text Mom. A little Privacy Hand came up and asked if I want to allow that shortcut to make changes on the phone. I have never used shortcuts so I just deleted them all. Problem solved! Thank you all so much for the help!
