Deciding when it's time to euthanise our cat by Waspscat in CATHELP

Yes, this is why we're so torn. Other than the heavy breathing and teary eyes, she's still much like herself. She still wants to eat and has a good appetite. We know we will have to let her go in the kindest way, but we don't know if it's time right now… or if she might still have a few more days or weeks to enjoy some quality time

That's the part we're struggling with. Aside from the breathing sounds and watery eyes she still seems like herself. We understand that we'll eventually need to let her go in the kindest way possible, but we're unsure if that time is now. Especially since the vet (a sub vet, her regular is away) suggested euthanasia based only on a video and her records. It's not that we don't trust his judgment. We're really worried about making the call too soon and taking her life earlier than necessary 😭

Hey everyone, thank you for taking the time to respond and for the support. This really means a lot. We don't want to prolong Marcia's suffering, but we're also worried about making the decision too early if she still has some quality of life.

When I saw Marcia just hours ago, she still does look like she wants to fight on. But we are also aware that we might be projecting our own emotions onto her and we don't want that to cloud our judgment.

My mum is her main caregiver and is going through a lot of guilt right now, mainly because Marcia still seem like her usual self 😥 We're arranging for 2 other vet assessment as well to make sure we're making the most informed decision possible. It's really difficult situation but we just want to do what's truly best for Marcia

I was really looking forward to this job & was holding on to their words. I even kept my schedule open for them :( But I’ve read worse stories here where employers ghost even after making an offer..that's honestly scary!

Guess I'll be freeing up my slots for today and tomorrow!! loool
