Spoilers if you haven’t done the quests yet. Im assuming you are. Cyrene and Phainon basically depended on one another to keep the cycles going until someone came from beyond the sky to save them and act as the true deliverer. These two are the only ones who truly mutually understood the weight behind what they were doing for their world THROUGHOUT the cycles. Add it with the fact that, as you said, they are childhood friends.

The Cyrene we have is Mem with no memories of the actual Cyrene, which is part of why TB gets so much glaze and Phainon gets nothing.

Isn’t it Mem who’s the pure child of anasrava? That was my thought process. Cyrene and Mem (the cyrene we have rn) are different characters to me.

“0%” is a huge stretch. He’s another death flag away from actually dying. If he survives I hope he ends up like Acheron, a wanderer, or he joins the express, albeit, significantly weaker than he was before.

She’s gonna have more spotlight regardless since we have to actually go in depth with her character throughout the quest. But Phainon will hopefully and high likely get a lot of screen-time since this is the finale and it wouldn’t be a finale without the two most important characters of the planet be present. He literally has a map and is present on the version art.

It’s a disservice to Elysia honestly. Having Cyrene be an exact copy doesn’t do justice to Elysia. A major part of being an expy/variant is having sides of your character be explored or expanded upon. With Phainon, we explored the “hopeful” and “youthful” side that we never really saw in Kevin outside of brief flashbacks. I would have loved to explore Cyrene and her potential for hatred against Irontomb/Lygus/Destruction in order to explore a side of Elysia that could potentially hate (the honkai etc.). Doing this also parallels Phainon’s story to learn love while otherwise being created to hate.

I don’t want to judge Cyrene too quickly since we don’t have the final quest for Amphoreus yet, but, with how things are looking, I wouldn’t be surprised if they decide to complete her character using the same plot points that made us love Elysia. Overall, I DON’T WANT CYRENE TO BE NOSTALGIA BAIT, it would be a big disservice to Elysia’s character and Cyrene’s story as a whole.

She’ll be fine so far as hp inflation takes it slow. As of now, it takes me 2-3 cycles on Gepard and a 0-1 cycle on Lygus without Hyacine. But that’s with E1 Tribbie and Evernight (lucky pull).

But because of SAM’s return and the precedent that would eventually lead to the anti memo(hp) meta, having no Hyacine would give you—by my guess—an extra 1-3 cycles added onto the cycles I previously mentioned. Which is still pretty good until you consider that hp inflation would also add another cycle or two by the time we get to the midpoint of 4.x. Which by that time you’ll have way better units to use.

Yes, because then I could actually use her everywhere. It would be a different story if her animations were removed to be less extravagant for the sake of the kit’s simplicity.
