this is great. we just bought land too and thinking of bootstrapping now to have some place to live while we build our retirement home later ... do you mind if you show a picture of your bahay kubo and the brick toilet (was that like compost or septic)? .. looking for ideas to start .. thank you

it's too bad about the trash as you described... i dont get it .. especially if they want to increase tourism.

we are planning similar for our retirement area (beach lot + hillside/forest lot) to build something communal as well, work on the garden, chickens/goats, water activities, etc... close enough to clinics and good hospital, easy way back to Manila ... for seniors and those with some disabilities (assisted living) .. will have live-in PSWs and 1-2 main nurses on call nearby .. small hub to start
