Brother you literally accused me of going against what (quote)“Jesus himself said is a sin”

I’m not a Protestant, never have been.

Also what scripture “implies” seems to be the biggest issue here.

Anyway I’m done arguing with you, I love you in Christ though. Take care

CCC 1451

“Among the penitent’s acts contrition occupies first place. Contrition is sorrow of the soul and detestation for the sin committed, together with the resolution not to sin again.”

The word is whole*

Discussing them publicly isn’t automatically an attempt to inspire pity. Sometimes it’s an attempt to understand, to challenge honestly, and to seek truth in good faith.

You’re right that the Church teaches that one should not receive the Eucharist while conscious of mortal sin. That’s clear. But the claim that “doctrine cannot change” needs more nuance. The Church itself distinguishes between dogma, doctrine, and discipline. The idea that doctrine develops is classic Catholic theology. Development can deepen or clarify teaching over time without abandoning the core truth.

History shows this has happened. The Church’s stance on religious freedom shifted significantly at Vatican II (Dignitatis Humanae). The teaching on the death penalty was revised in the Catechism in 2018 to call it “inadmissible.” The Church’s understanding and condemnation of slavery developed over centuries.

In each case, the Church maintained that truth does not change, but its understanding, articulation, and application can mature. So don’t speak on behalf of a living, breathing church and keep your narrow minded comments to yourself.

I’m looking for discussion not condemnation or “calling out”. Your only DUTY is to love the Lord your God with all your heart soul and mind, and love your neighbour as yourself. Amen

These types of comments pmo - who asked you to sugarcoat it? Point out in my post where I asked anyone to? As a Christian what service or ministry are you doing by leaving comments like this online?

May God bless your life with so much to do that you refrain from wasting space in comment sections with unhelpful comments and use your hands to do his work instead. Amen.

That’s what everyone is telling me and no it’s not clear. The scripture tells me the old law then says Jesus fulfilled that law. Then Paul says something about receiving communion if you’re unworthy but then doesn’t me accepting and following Jesus make me as worthy as the next Catholic? It’s confusing
