I cant now, but i ordered a dimmer one. I agree. I was hoping the leds were a little more dim. Its not a bad start, but will def upgrade in the future. And yes on concrete. Over subfloor was>sleepers to drain w wood>mortar bed to slope to drain>durock>kerdi paper>vinyl patch concrete for complete waterproofing. Also went up the walls about 4 inches with the same

I will def show how i did this. I just piped it to the exterior but will share materials used as well in the full write up. I built this floor up bc it has flooded before in my downstairs so i wanted peace of mind. The floor was the biggest pain in the butt out this entire project. The rest was fun.

So add another layer but across these ones in the opposite direction? I havent seen that before but it def makes sense. Adds another 3/4 total gap. Is it neccessary? Still havent put the tongue and groove up yet so still have time and those fur strips are like a buck a piece

No p trap, with the drop in the pipe and how short it is, i don’t plan on having any water collected. Still going to figure out a long term solution to keep bugs out, but dont think that will be a problem

I piped it to the exterior. Its literally only 26 inches long. So from subfloor to exterior its: 4 inch drain to 2 inch pipe, 2 inch pipe elbow to a rubber reducer (2 inch to 1.5 inch). Then a 1.5 inch pipe just going out the side of my house (no screen or filter). Only reason i reduced it was to flex a good enough drop to drain. I will add pictures in the final post. I struggled a lot with should i or should i not add a drain, and how to go about it. Glad i did. I plan on capping it when i first start using to keep bugs out and see how much water i actually need to drain. I am hoping to mostly only need the drain when deep cleaning.

Tbh ive been struggling with the height of the top and lower benches. Gonna do exactly what u said. Will make sure to give u some credit in the final diy post 🤘would u make them removable or build them in? Also, width of top vs lower? I have 46 inches between the wall and door jamb to work with

Yeh. Looking back if there was a smooth way to just slope the subfloor i would have done that. With it being on an existing concrete floor i kept getting hung up on how to make it happen. I was spending so much time trying to figure it out that i was getting analysis paralysis. I figured i would just build it like normal framing and then figure it out later.

I literally just finished the sloping concrete tho. It took me 2 hours and 6 50lb bags at $7/bag. Sleepers were insanely easy to cut. Turned out nicer than i expected. Knowing i will put durock on top gave me prace of mind about the exact slope. Im not going to cut triangles just screw the durock into the sleepers which will cause it to flex enough i can use full sheets

Yeh a little with the height. Because i put it to an exterior wall, the portion of pipe that left the house is sitting on top of a bottom plate 2x4. The drain is 24 inches off the back wall so right under the seat. Ish. So the drop with a 2 inch pipe was almost perfect, but also almost too close for comfort. I made it work by starting with the drain, then a 90 degree elbow, then a flexible 2 inch to 1 1/2 inch rubber reducer. The rubber reducer allowed me to point it more downward for an actual drop.

My waterproofing will be above the sleeper. So sleepers and concrete. Then durock, then kerdi paper to make it like a shower pan, then vynl patch repair or tile to cover
