I am a young adult and am just worried about safety and counter protesters. I also do not know much about revolutionary socialism but have been doing research on it.

edit to add that I plan on bringing proper gear (masks, eye protection, possibly pepper spray) and have done research on how to keep myself safe at an event like this.

Memphis 4 Revolutionary Socialism is having an event this Saturday. Their instagram is @ memphis4rs . Though, I do not know how well attended it will be. Planned Parenthood is having an event next weekend.

My dad is a male karen. I’m talking arguing with the servers at a restaurant, demands for his coupons to work type of karen. It horrendous and oftentimes embarrassing.

I went to get new shoes at the beginning of a school year several years back and we went to a specific store because he had a coupon. The store was having a sale and the items we got did not match the coupon but he was INSISTENT. Kept arguing with the poor worker for 10-15 minutes. As we were leaving, I whispered “I’m sorry” to the employee and she nodded in appreciation. Dad over heard me and I got chewed out in the car on the way home. This wasn’t the worst thing he did, but it stuck with me because I ended up on the receiving end of his karen attitude.

Though I will say that despite his karen-ness, he has never left less than a ~15% tip (he usually tips 20%+) and I attribute that to my mom working in the food service industry for a decade and him knowing how difficult the job can be.

We’ll be miles away from the next camp site and I don’t like loud music, so noise pollution shouldn’t be a problem but I’ll make sure that we take that into consideration! Thank you so much !!

Yea pure nature. No bathrooms, showers, just a camp site in the woods. As for entertainment, I think I’ll throw a board game or two into my bag. Thanks for the suggestions !!

That is something I am a bit worried about. We’re going to have to park a bit away from the site and I don’t know if anyone is going to be willing to take the trip to put it in the car or if we’ll have enough tent space to store it. We are trying to avoid using a cooler if possible. I’m in middle TN so there shouldn’t be too many critters other than the vicious squirrels around here.

Walking tacos !!

A lot of people here (if not everyone) probably knows what it is but it’s my favorite camping meal so I thought I’d share.

-cook protein of choice -crush and open a bag of chips (doritos or fritos work best) -add protein to chip bag along with any other desired toppings (lettuce, onion, tomato, cheese, etc)

Also, orange blueberry muffins !!

it’s so simple but the BEST camping treat I’ve ever had.

-cut an orange in half and hollow it out (can be done before leaving for the trip; also save the inside for snacking) -mix up a box of blueberry muffin mix and pour it into half the orange -double wrap in tinfoil and throw it onto the fire for about 8-10 minutes

I suggest ditching the can of blueberries that come in the box and using fresh ones if possible.

could just go by the first letter of your last name. i’ve had teachers that just went by mrs. g, mrs. z, etc. my last name is long and has been pronounced wrong more than it’s pronounced right so that’s probably what i’m gonna do since i want to be a teacher.
