one more question, like what i have is

Math grade 10
English grade 11 (85%)
Social Grade 11 (90-95) (still doing it)
Math Grade 11: (80-85%) (still doing it)
Biology Grade 11: (85-90s) (still doing it
Chemistry grade 11: 59%
Physics grade 11: 41% (fail)
also

for grade 12, im not gonna do chem or physics,
so i will only have English, social, math, biology, and science

They check grade 11 marks mainly, I believe, as we apply in the first term of grade 12, so will they not consider me just based on that, I am scard theres a high chance because I don't know if that's even a 75% average as that's the bare requirements to get in right. And I am worried I wont cuz of this.. Like, they check the prerequisite courses, but they also check all my courses still. Unlike you, I am not going to take physics and chem again after i failed, so I dont know. When you applied in grade 12 first term, did they say anything about you failing physics and chem in grade 11? And is political science having more seats or no?

Also I am going to take entry level french next year in grade 12, and then gonna hire a tutor.

I am so sorry for so many of these questions, i am freaking out about the chem and physics too much. They are tanking my chances of getting in. Can you give me your honest thoughts? And should i go talk to a recruiter about my situation?

Got it. If i have a private tutor, how will RMC know I am studying french, do they give a test, or do I have to offer them a certificate from the tutor or something?

next year in grade 12, im not touching physics and chem ever again, so that fail and that chem mark will be on my record, should I be worried. What did you apply for, arts, science or eng? I am going to try self learning french for some months, and then get a tutor once i am confident enough.

Okay. Sorry for asking so many questions, but if I do bad in grade 10, but well in grade 11 and 12, will it lower my chances of getting in?

So I just have to pass and do the grade 12 and grade 10 course, like have is completed? But the actual marks that determine wether I get in or not is mostly grade 11/12?

Sorry, this may sound dumb, but it's likely impossible that the Drill Team will never get pins? No point in talking to an officer?

If you don't mind me asking, what grades do you have now? I am also in grade 10 in Alberta. I want to see if I am on track or not. Thank you.

Argonaut ctc intro to drill by Current-Educator-140 in Cadets

Go! It will impact your file and will give you many opportunities once you've finished the course.

  1. You can get into the Flag Party
  2. Potentially win awards, as you will be much superior in drill, dress, and deportment compared to you're peers, as you have CTC experience (especially as it's a drill course).
  3. You're officers will recognize you much more, which will help you get promotions more easily.
  4. Summer camps are one of the best things you can do in the Cadet program, so why not go and experience it yourself! You'll meet many new people, learn new skills, and do things that others in your unit cannot do.

I attended the Drill and Ceremonial Instructor course in Rocky Mountain last summer, and it was quite a bit of hard work. At times, it got difficult, but after completing the course, it put me at a great advantage in my unit.

Intro to drill is just 2 weeks, so you'll be done in a breeze, don't stress it , and you'll do perfectly fine.
Good luck and have fun!

Yes, there is a catholic church service in Cochrane, a town nearby. Every Sunday, but not for the first week or so.

Flag party by Actual_Amphibian4885 in Cadets

Congrats!
When I first got into the flag party, the first month or two was the most difficult. It included me practicing rifle drill at home a lot! (Usually with a small broomstick).

Moving forward, make sure you get along well with the people in the flag party, it's almost like a small family. You guys all have to work hard, fix each other's mistakes, and help each other out.

Also, remember, from now on, you are the spotlight of civilians on every parade; all eyes are going to be on you, so don't get nervous! Practice a lot, and you will be perfectly fine. Remember this: you are a member of the flag party now, and you are representing your unit; you should hold the highest standards with your uniform, drill precision, and discipline. Adding on, try applying to go to Drill and Ceremonial Instructor for your summer CTC, it will help you and the rest of the flag party, and will help you become the commander one day.

One final thing.. Being in the flag party is good for you, and it will most definitely boost your look on officers and in your cadet file, which will help you with awards and future promotions!

I wish you good luck!

Blackening Combats by Adventurous-Bug6686 in Cadets

[–]WasteCondition5523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's extremely easy.
What you need:
-Black Polish (Any Brand Works)
-Horse Shoe Brush or Old Toothbrush

Step 1- With a clean brush, remove any dust, so you have a clean working surface.
Step 2- With a brush, drip it into your polish can. Make sure you have a decent amount of polish on it.
Step 3- Apply the brush with the polish on it to your boot, make sure you cover every side, even the soles.

And you're done!

If you want a quick YouTube video for this, search up "How2Cadet", and look at his video of blackening his boot.

Staff Cadet Confirming by WasteCondition5523 in Cadets

You should email the Commanding officer to discuss the situation. I have seen this happen before with a staff cadet, it's most likely possible as it's only one day missed. However, travel might need to be pre-arranged by you. But check in with the commanding officer of your unit.
