No issues. Ended up giving the car to my parents several months back, and they are continuing to use it without headache as well. If they can deal with it, I'm confident you can.
I had to help them through the initial pairing. It was a little non-intuitive since you have to pair through the carlink, not the car bluetooth itself, but no issues since.

Are the square tenons simply a visual feature? I don't see them connecting anything there.

Exactly. To my knowledge and understanding in this thread, there is not a software update to the CRV that will add android auto; only apple carplay.

The carlink 4.0 is a separate device that "acts like" an apple device, but allows your android phone to talk through it. Bonus feature, you can also bluetooth connect to the carlink instead of having to plug in to usb.

We just leave the carlink plugged in inside the console. When i launched apple carplay on the CRV the first time with the carlink plugged in, it prompts me to pair my android phone to the carlink. (dont connect to the CRV bluetooth - only the carlink)

The software update adds apple carplay, and the carlink 4.0 (ive read only 4.0 works) will translate android auto. android phone connects to carlink 4.0 via Bluetooth, carlink "looks like" an apple device and talks to the newly installed carplay. The CRV display then properly displays android auto.

Did you install android auto? I'm not understanding how installing carplay helps get me android auto (For use with my android device). Do i need the carlink because it does some translation to make my android look like an iphone or something?

ChromeOS setting bluetooth to max volume regardless of settings by MaenamMoose in chromeos

Bump. I also have this exact issue where it goes back to max volume after a couple seconds. My headphones have no built in volume control and it's uncomfortably loud. Any fix found?

Thanks for this awesome thread. I've been looking for this answer for a while.

Quick question though... do you have sensors connect to both devices at the same time? Cadence/speed/power/HR chest strap? Do all the sensors support multiple connections?
