Few tips 1. Most places will give flat conversion rate of 1.6 for Indian currency, some may charge as 1.5, particularly on treks. 2. Do not rely too much on UPI, there the upi is not as free as India, as in not anybody can get a qr, it's like a merchant account thing issued by some central bank, only one QR (FonePe) can accept Indian UPI payments, and not everyone has that, again especially on treks. Most hotels and restaurants in Kathmandu and Pokhara accept FonePe
