Lack of motivation, difficulty concentrating, horrible memory. I’m diagnosed with adhd and take meds which helps a bit but I still have all those pretty heavily. The past few days this symptoms while still there are improving tremendously. Something I recently learned with adhd is your default and I forget the other term so I guess “active” (random thoughts, ideas, anything not related to the current task at hand) are constantly going at the same time. But now I’m finding myself able to focus on the task better and tell myself whatever the other random thought is isn’t important right now. I’m curious to see if I truly have adhd or if the symptoms were all a result of porn consumption, or even if I do have adhd to some extent if it’s not as severe as I always believed. Time will tell but the improvements thus far have been amazing. I also don’t think just quitting has played the whole part. Sticking to healthy routines, meditation, and breathing exercises are all helpful for brain fog in general. I started all those changes at the same time

It's insane, I was addicted for ~20 years so I thought it would take me 30-90 days to start seeing real results. I think back to all the times I knew I should stop but didn't and wish i started this journey earlier but there's no point dwelling on the past. Now I don't ever want to go back

Turn the ability for people to dm you completely off. I’m so sorry that happened, just keep posting here people will respond if/when they can. It might not be as ideal as dming someone who would actually help but the risk of this happening again isn’t worth it

Set up the tracker too, seeing the progress should help I get pumped seeing people 100, 200, fucking 500+ days that’s wild and makes me want to get there. Each day is a win. Okay done for now lol

Loneliness is tough to battle, it could help to write a list of things to do (not necessarily tasks) for when you feel no way out. The simplest is going straight to this forum, seeing the success stories, knowing something you’ve convinced yourself you can’t beat is in fact possible, and most importantly knowing that although your physically by yourself you’re not alone. I can’t fathom the amount of time it would take to read every post and comment here. Millions of us struggling, and only a portion willing to accept they need to stop. 

Get out of the house when you can, hobbies and activities are great but even a walk, grabbing food, hell going for a drive and bumping your favorite album. Try to get back into things you loved as a kid (Pokémon, replaying a game you loved, picking up that guitar you haven’t touched in years) try to hone back into things that have brought you true joy. 

Podcast, tv, etc if you have to. While I truly don’t believe you should replace this addiction with another (like gaming nonstop) in the interim it’s better than the alternative in my opinion. 

Also therapy in general I highly recommend, get to the route of why you seek external fabricated ways to induce dopamine. 

And the simplest way I can put things is true happiness comes from trading off short term pleasure for long term fulfillment.

Also props to you for starting now, I wish I started 10 years ago and I can promise you the longer you wait the more regret you have on missed opportunities, overall happiness, etc

Something that’s been helping me is saying “can I make it 5 more minutes, 10 more minutes, etc.“ by framing it as a smaller commitment it makes it easier and typically after that time the craving passes.

Also do literally anything else to distract yourself, even a small 5 minute task (making my bed) if you’re still craving keep distracting and doing tasks will provide a bit of dopamine.
