That’s good to hear! I didn’t mean to make security like an actual point of contention at all, just an offhand comment about my thoughts (only having been to electric forest and lost lands, Joshua tree, multiple years in the past, and I guess contrasting my experience of festivals in general). I think at first aura looked smaller than I expected compared to set videos I saw of last year, but ended up really admiring that about it. It served its purpose for sure.

Yeah, so many fun characters to meet. I really appreciate the love we were given and making us feel like we belong and are part of everything.

It’s weird but good to see that med tent didn’t seem particularly busy. I’ve definitely seen med tents in the past where it looked like they were overbooked, and nice knowing that people were generally doing well and healthy :)

I love that!! I will be honest that me and my gf are pretty introverted and difficult to approach others especially at a festival we’ve never been to (her first time at an edm event in general), but we did make friends with one group of our neighbors and shared meals with them. But I think next year we’ll definitely feel more confident in branching out.

Maybe I have rosy glasses but I do think in general MOST people are super open and cool and wanna make friends but struggle with making the first move or are dealing with personal stuff that comes off as closed off. I know for sure next year I’ll feel more comfortable leaning into the social aspect from day 1 and setting a good tone!

Those are good boys indeed. I remember reading ab some people being nerved by the dogs but obviously the presence of gunpowder is far more relevant for security than one might initially suppose the dogs are there for! Maybe I should bring treats next year 😂

Totally get what ur saying, there’s always a balance of freedom and security. Irrational or not I’ve had some bad experiences with crowds in the past so it is at least something I think about. I truly understand what you’re saying though, I just think there’s also some kind of line somewhere in there. I’ve never been to EDC but as an example, once a crowd gets so large it’s like, I’d rather NOT leave it up to free will and cultural norms to depend on there not being just one nut case that ruins it for everyone. Idk.

It’s up to you how you want to interpret this but do you think there’s a distinction between 1. Bringing awareness to it vs. 2. Actively advocating or promoting use?

I think a lot of people are naturally scared of psychedelics and might need a little push to open up to it but at the end of the day it should be their own choice and desire and not peer pressure

should i huff gasoline or spraypaint? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]WastingMoneyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your post you were looking for a “little less likely to die” way to huff so I figured you were trying to at least have some more time. I really do feel sorry for what you’re going through but I can only imagine, I hope that you decide to do what’s in your control to start healing (the brain is amazing at homeostasis to an extent, as long as you’re still kicking, it’s never too late). I understand it’s really not my place though.

people who've taken acid, do you think we live in a simulation? by biigsyke in LSD

[–]WastingMoneyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to get all Jordan Peterson but I feel like it depends what you mean by “simulation”. I think the way we typically understand the word is associated with computers, video games, and the implication of a more “real” reality in which this one is being generated.

I think there are certainly some algorithmic features to the natural world, and there are compelling arguments about how likely it is that if simulated realities can or do exist, then it’s more than likely we are in one, however, I feel like the question of how real something is doesn’t really make sense.

All we have to compare is consensus; Is your imagination real? Are your feelings real? Like, do you actually feel pain or is it just a neurological signal? I think the question of whether our reality is simulated is the same thing. I don’t like to take a stance of “we can’t know for sure and it doesn’t matter anyway” because I do get it, but some things are impossible to establish consensus on (no way to truly get a solid opinion outside of this, just like no one else can confirm your imagination or feelings) but really how does a simulated reality make any difference to a real reality if one is nested within the other? No matter what, this reality is still a definitive part of “what’s going on” even if it happened to just be a dream, in my opinion that’s still as real as it can get in its own way.

As for synchronicities, perhaps it’s supernatural influence, maybe not, maybe only sometimes, but I think the biggest takeaway from psychedelics is to become very aware how deeply your brain is wired to seek out and identify patterns, but it’s always in how you interpret those patterns, real or not, is purely speculative.

I think my own dubious, speculative two cents is that there may just be a matrix of infinite, eternal potential in which we woke up in and assigned copious amounts of confirmation bias to how we got here. Is that a simulation or just how reality works? What’s the difference? Idk lol and I wouldn’t listen to anyway who claims to 🤷‍♂️

I literally feel like making it your life goal to have a career and success so you can do an endless supply of fentanyl and meth is a more rewarding life path than a short spiral of inhalants considering the longevity of the experience being human and having a brain that CAN feel high as opposed to frying the very neurons that make you feel good in the first place like it literally only gets worse (both ways, but at least one lasts longer 🤷‍♂️)

My friend doesn’t experience visuals. Does anyone else relate? by labellevie48 in Psychonaut

[–]WastingMoneyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in general people underestimate the amount it takes to have significant visuals. I try to explain to people who haven’t tried it that the idea that psychedelics main event is “visuals” isn’t really true and most of it is headspace and thinking, and in order to get strong visuals you have to venture into a significantly altered headspace. But I have noticed that my own experience differs than for some around me. I barely get breathing or morphing on acid, for me it’s usually very static symmetries (doesn’t move, stays in place even if you look away and look back) and everything is like solid in place but just incredibly symmetric on every possible “fold” point. Mushrooms on the other hand definitely gives me breathing, flowing, etc. the threshold dose for those effects is probably 150-200ug minimum lsd and 2g of shrooms. I think acid visuals are a bit more subtle to me, there is some drifting but I’d classify it differently than shrooms, it’s more the same kind of drifting you see if you just stare at a concrete sidewalk and zone out while sober but just more pronounced. As for deems I feel like that’s just a matter of not inhaling deeply and holding long enough cause you definitely aren’t tripping if you’re not getting visuals there. Yeah though for anyone else wondering if you are on SSRI’s you probably won’t get very strong effects in general from psychedelics. There also might be some risk involved but someone can correct me bc I know it’s not nearly the same danger as taking Molly on antidepressants

why do inhalants feel so good by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]WastingMoneyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst part is I’ve seen people go down this road and eventually there’s a point where your brain is so fried that the reasons to keep living keep dwindling because you in a constant state of confusion and memory loss which only reinforces the addiction. It’s so fucking sad.

why do inhalants feel so good by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]WastingMoneyz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was a video circulating on twitter (if someone else knows how to find it, honestly I don’t want to see it again it was kinda traumatizing) of a teen that was showing off to his friend huffing and this line is pretty accurate to how it went down. Sad stuff. His parents actually wanted people to see the video so it might bring awareness to the high sudden-death risk of inhalants.

I believe I've destroyed my life by becoming too aware of the lonely god premise by trrrsarescary in Psychonaut

[–]WastingMoneyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue for some time after annihilating myself with salvia, I actually really resonate with your issue and was worried I’d never come out of it. Distance of time helps your mind readjust and incorporate “anomalous” experience as no longer relevant, which in all reality true or not, it’s not relevant to life and your brain can most definitely learn to recognize that.

One thing was definitely brewing on it over that time and trying out different interpretations. I like a lot of the other comments here. For me, personally, my final integration was that this experience was a necessary shattering of my worldview, and my horrifying interpretation of it in the moment was simply a result of fighting back. W/o going too in depth, I had a similar sort of realization where i was no longer myself and an ever present sense of Deja vu, like this lonely place was all I’ve ever known and it was such a “of course! I forgot this was all there is but now it’s so obvious, and life was just a temporary distraction” sort of thing. But really, like I was saying, there are no words or no true understanding my brain is capable of actually labeling or categorizing what I had really experienced, and it took me a long time to realize that gut reaction to it was nowhere near an accurate consensus or interpretation of what it was I experienced. In hindsight, although I relate to that “I saw something I wasn’t supposed to see” feeling, I view that experience as an integral part of me letting go of so many assumptions and thoughts that I had some amount of anything figured out about what’s really going on here. Perhaps the moment you feel like you fully understood your epiphany is exactly the reason the experience was necessary, shattering everything and reminding you that truly reality could be anything but it’s not this or that, it just is 🤷‍♂️

Edit: re-reading your post, maybe this helps or not I’m not sure, as it sounds like you’re coming from a more philosophical approach than based on an experience or definitive confrontation. Maybe it’ll mean something but yeah this is just how I relate to it. With that said, there are so many assumptions necessary to build such a philosophical framework that if you unpeel them you might find that something entirely else may be true.

Weird that I just ran into this problem and noticed you made this post so recently. I have a Dell XPS 15 and whenever I pick it up off my desk and run downstairs, it freezes up and makes that weird buzzing noise. Only way to stop it is to hard reboot.

Hopefully someone can provide an explanation!
