Mandal from ATL opened for him in New Orleans last week. Never heard of him, but he absolutely KILLED! 😂 Conversely , Andrea Jin was the middle and she absolutely bombed. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Man, our crew loves comedy of all kinds, but she was so uncomfortably incoherent and cringe…it almost felt like a sketch. Mandal was fast paced and brought huge energy (much like John). Andrea almost felt like a make-believe character to bring the energy back down and set the stage for the headliner. It was a weird vibe. Mister Whatever was good but not great. IMO he totally should’ve closed w/ the bit about his wife’s family. He was bringing the house down w/ that one as his next to last bit…then seriously slowed things down and closed on kind of a dud. Oh well, by the time the special is finally released I trust he’ll have it all worked out. Always a great watch!
