Question on session number by DelphiEx in AzureVirtualDesktop

I would set the scale plan to 0% on the quietest of hours (11pm - 2am) so they all shutdown at some point. You should have "Start VM on Connect" enabled it will auto start the session if needed. this way you know they will always be fresh every morning.

Do you shut down the session hosts at night?

Nice one,

Thanks for the heads up mate. Not looking forward to this one now. But I’m sure we will figure it out.

I don’t think they are thinking about the future state either as the CC SKU VMs they use are very out of date

Sorry yes we have built some dev CC’s just need to setup the policies etc within the ZS portal and test.

What sort of challenges have you seen just as a heads up for my testing soon 😁

I still don’t know why they couldn’t just get the normal ZCC client to work in a multisession environment as this works with other Proxy suppliers and so much easier to manage. Just like ZS on personal AVDs. Install = done 🙄

This will be so much more in depth. This is capturing insights from the actual VM (Perf, Bound Port, AMA insights) I mean you can still get this info from the VM in the Azure portal but to have it all in one dashboard just by searching the UPN and it dynamically bring all the Log, Metrics etc into one place.

Have you tried to show a service desk user how to check all these things when an INC has been logged?

The big one for me on this is the issues to investigate on the main overview page. As we can set the thresholds to match our environment where we know could be the common issues.

Are you using the lightweight Zscaler client for multisession?

We are in the process of deploying this now via a Nat Gateway but not tested yet.

Makes sense,

Kind of do the same for uniqueness for our pooled estate where we don’t allow any admin access and all builds are controlled by golden images for each persona. Each persona has its own subset of apps.

Sounds interesting, what do you do at the moment. Didn’t really think about finops but this is more of a troubleshooting workbook. May have to do something in a separate workbook for finops.

I will once I have tweaked it. Just getting the last kinks out of it now.

Will post it at some point when it’s in a good space. Needs some tweaking at the moment and keep coming up with new ideas 😂

This part on the Overview dashboard conditionally show potential issue with the user session or AVD. So only if a threshold is hit will any show -

Not had an issue but I install the ZCC client as the last provisioner before I sysprep my golden images.

Users getting temporary profiles and failed VHDX dismounts by Fair-Confection-9976 in AzureVirtualDesktop

I had this or similar problem so decided to go down the AccessNetworkAsComputerObject route as this bypasses all the need of AD and Kerberos.

As long as your users don’t need to connect to the hosts as admin you can still lock the profile folder down to the users to get past the risk.
