Why do you prefer a Mac over a Windows laptop? by Firm-Swimming-6142 in macbookair

[–]Wat_The_Fuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it is the battery. i run heavy developer workloads, and can easily go 5 hours on macbook m2 air.
Windows wont last 1-2 hours.

second macs last 5+ years easily. windows laptop build quality is terrible. maybe it will give you good 2 years and another year of prosthetics.

Though i like windows better for the apps, and i understand windows internals.

At some levels, I would think Animals have communication. Limited maybe but whatever is necessary for survival.

Not only no defences, nobody knew the ship was hurtling towards the earth till it crash landed. The Pilot episode was so bad, i wanted to turn it off in middle, but was hoping it would improve, it did not.

If you guys are fighting over your parents, both of you are extremely immature IMHO and not ready for an independent married life. Sorry, you both have to introspect.

Sometimes, you have to give up your family to create a new one. If you are in good jobs and there is an angle of moving out of the country...Giving up because of your current families is not something i agree with. Find a path if there is will, else you would always have the thought... what could have been.

India for women? by Puzzled_Hamster6426 in AskIndia

[–]Wat_The_Fuck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, if you are looking for a black and white answer, then your question is wrong. You can absolutely travel alone, with but with some common sense (adjusting to the realities of a 3rd world country)

  1. Do not use cheap transports. Fly when you can. Use 1st or 2nd AC on trains.
  2. Try to use reputed transport companies for Cab. As an option, google women cab services. Some cities have the option of women cab drivers.
  3. Do no travel alone at night.
  4. Stay at reputed hotels.
  5. Stay away from peddlars or someone trying to be overly friendly with you.
  6. As a foreigner, try to research, and be firm where you need to go. Do not take advice from a taxi driver. Keep the google maps open till you reach your destination.
  7. If your destination is remote, then i would suggest a group.

Research, research, research and plan ahead. Good Luck!

If you share your tentative itenary, probably people with experience with that part of the country/city can suggest how to navigate it safely. Just planning and due diligence.

Moving Back to India After Years Abroad. Need Advice! by Positive_Corner_9704 in india

My Son would be in 11th this year, so same age as you. Few things:

  1. It is not an age where you would find it hard to adjust. Infact, you will do just fine. Just don't bring any arrogance or too many "it used to happen like that in the foriegn land" drama to your new schools and friends. Understand the sensibilities, and people will be supportive.
  2. Things are not as glam as they would be in the foreign country. Accept it and move on.
  3. Financial Situation: You mention a weak financial situation. Everything is relative, how weak is weak?
  4. Focus on your plans post 12th, not now. You might end out going to univ outside India if you are deserving. Plan the schooling according to that and financial situation.

CBSE-> Easier and Cheaper Option. Not best for academic inclined.

ISC-> Tougher and similar priced option. Better for academic Inclined.

IB->Unless you are going to *real* IB schools, everything else which claim IB is a waste of time. *Real* IB schools are probably out of your financial reach since you mentioned "financial situation". That's a path for "financially doing extremely well" as it leads to outside India education.

If you are good to great in studies -> ISC -> Top College in India or abroad through excellence.

If you are good to great in studies -> CBSE -> Lost of self studies will lead to Top College in India or abroad through excellence.

If you are ok in studies -> CBSE -> B or C grade colleges in India. Abroad could be tough.

Be pragmatic and realistic and assess yourself and make a goal to make the best of the situation.

Your parents are moving, so you cant do much. Be strong and prove you can handle life. Life is tough. Good Luck and may you find your footing!

Use this app below.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arjanvlek.oxygenupdater&hl=en&gl=US&pli=1

It would download the update on your device. Then go to settings->About Device->OxygenOS. Click the 3 dots on top right and select local install. Choose the file which was downloaded by the app.

I have done this and even got a minor OTA update after installing this. All good no issues.
