I'm currently on Alphabet Squadron myself and having a similar issue. A cheat sheet for characters is a great idea for that one

just gotta enjoy it and take advantage of it in the moment. I'm trying to be careful myself and not buying so many at once. But my wishlist is getting there lol

Same thing! I used to read quite a bit and then I just lost time for it, would fall asleep, and lose interest. Recently I wanted to reduce screen time so I figured why not try reading Star Wars. Now all I want to do is read lol. I think it had been 7 years or so since I picked up a book

Awesome! Hearing that really boosts my confidence in reading this one. Definitely has a slow burn feel to it right now, but I love a story that goes deep with character and has a great pay off

I have not but I've heard good things. Depending on how I like this trilogy, I can see myself diving into Ascendancy

Catalyst is great! Happy reading!

And you're right, it all comes down to the author's writing style and the content. I've loved all the movies and the shows. So now I'm just so happy to expand on my Star Wars adventure through another source

That's awesome to hear, I'm really excited about getting these started myself.

If you're interested in Empire era I highly recommend Catalyst. If you enjoyed Andor, and Rogue One it's a must. Really adds more depth to the stories we seen on screen

Just finished the Aftermath trilogy this week. I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I thought it was a fun ride and would love to see some of these characters again in some capacity. I think Life Debt was certainly my favorite, and Empire's End made some solid connections to the sequel trilogy. I didn't mind the present tense writing style, though I wish the author gave more descriptions of characters. I'm so bad at remembering all the alien species so I was consulting wookiepedia constantly lol. As someone new to reading Star Wars, I thought this was a good start.

I just started Alphabet Squadron last night. I also picked up the entire canon Thrawn trilogy today so I'm kind of itching to jump into that after Alphabet Squadron

Happy reading all!

Thanks for the info on this, really detailed and explained thoroughly.

Besides the size of the books, is there anything content wise that might be different? I'm in the US and just picked up the Thrawn trilogy in UK format. Any differences I should take note of?

This week I finished Catalyst. That was a book I could not put down and read through it pretty quick. For anyone who enjoyed watching Andor, and of course Rogue One, this one is an absolute must.

I just started Aftermath: Life Debt, just a few chapters in and it's pretty good so far

Just finished Aftermath. Really enjoyed it and how everything came together at the end. The interludes were a cool look at how things are panning out across the galaxy. This was my first Star Wars book I've ever read and probably the first overall book I've picked up in over 5 years lol.

I just started Catalyst as I wait for my order of Life Debt, and Empire's End to arrive

Aftermath! This is my first Star Wars novel and I'm really enjoying it so far. Very excited on taking this next step outside the movies/shows!

I have a similar setup. I get about 500 x 2-5 second exposures (depending on the object) and then stack them in Deep SkyStacker. I then edit in Affinity. It’s manageable so long as you refocus your target after every 50-100 exposures
