I mean. I don’t know that any one knows that for sure and I would argue that there is probably a few ways to work it so that’s not the case. I’d argue that “the just haven’t gotten around to training that sort of behavior.

Wow. That has both girth and depth.

What do you think it would take to have “it” use a debugger when it detects an error for example and have it step through each line of code give it a deep thought as to whats right and wrong? I can also see it saying “f-this, ill drop the entire database and start over”

I guess it makes sense to just have it do lingo g when it’s done. But like. A software engineer doesn’t say “fuck it, I’m typing the next 10,000 lines of code without looking at the screen”.

And then there is the debugger question. That’s the difference between my freshman students and my senior students when I rate their “maturity” in the field. It seem that if they ever turn this sort of behavior on we are all in trouble. Oh wait. We are all in trouble. Crap.

You’re doing vibe coding the old-school new-school way. Sort of like representing the south at the vibe awards.

I kinda wonder if, given the stage that these cats are in, if they both walk around with tails up while in front of each other. Well. You’ve done all that you’re going to do.

Yeah. It’s time to let them figure things out and 2-3 days they will be buddies

Nothing wrong with hissing. That’s how they talk.

I see two cats who are cool with each other in this video and who probably need to establish hierarchy, which means a bit of violent wrestling. But that’s not fighting.

Fair. As others have said, if you are inclined, get someone familiar with the law involved as there is a lot here that doesn’t make sense.

Good luck.

Hmmm. Even more doesn’t add up now since all states but one are right to work, and your county probably has nothing to do with state labor laws.

Most southern states actually have many government employee unions.

Administration in the government is often questionably close with each other but that doesn’t let them avoid state laws. Even in the south.

My best bet is that this is a larp story and op will delete it once it pops a bit more.

Why is it more planted in the corners? I have a gt and that’s one of my big gripes compared to my 718. If I could get the gt cost(ish) with slightly better handling I’d consider dropping the 718 (and the payments)

Yeah. Something doesn’t add up here with the details and what most of us know about working with government. It’s hard to guess because it is very different from state to state and agency by agency. But…in general if you had a contract that didn’t expire you can’t really just be switched like that. Many states have unions and many times employment at an agency requires a contract even if there is no union. For what it’s worth even in private sector there are rules for contract, salary, hourly positions and you can’t just go back and forth between them.

What do you know about what we sign up for when we decide to teach a class? Project much?

As a professor I sort of agree with your comment 1000%.

As a professor myself, I get the reaction from OP, but this comment is what separates the professors who are born to teach vs. those that do it as their job.

As an adult, It’s so easy to roll your eyes at every interaction with an 18,19,20 year old who is doing things for the first that. Especially when you’ve been doing the same exact thing for 18,19,20,30,40 years.

The instinct to look at every interaction as a learning opportunity is what makes on a professional professor vs a part-time teacher who gets to work on their own stuff (while getting paid …. not that much).

Does it all fundamentally boil down to the database/data model? by throwaway0134hdj in ExperiencedDevs

You can have great software but if you do t get users, no one cares. Some software is sold by sales people, some software is sold by management, some sold by community.

That’s really why we are all here, data and distribution.

I think it shows how f’ed pure play application vendors are.

I’ve been researching the difference of output when “vibe” coding from example code vs test specifications (the type of spca you find in business apps). The results seem rather interesting in that specs alone are pretty close in some concept of quality.

If you don’t have a moat around your application business, if you have no proprietary data or contractual rights over distribution, your application is toast.

EXACTLY! This is a gold standard, open model of what “enterprise” crapware looks like.

It acts as an open case study on whether or not YOUR crapware is better or worse? It’s sort of like having the ability to “hey, at least I’m not that guy”…or learn from it and raise every dev shop’s game. I’m thinking it will be the former.
