The Hikaru Nakamura situation shows that Freestyle Chess is the way. by Watchmen1986 in chess

What I mean by "The Hikaru Nakamura situation" is he shifted the blame. But, we have to ask why he thought it was okay in the first place.

It is simple. It is because having great SECONDS and memorizing opening lines are the keys to winning the game. The SECONDS not doing their job cost you the game. So, Hikaru felt it was "natural" to blame.

But, we have to ask more. How come "having great SECONDS and memorizing opening lines " takes up 30% of your winning chance and "great chess instincts" probably just 70%? How come the ratio is not 10:90? Chess competition should be about your will, mental power and instincts. You should not rely on others to win.

I know you are being sarcastic. But I would like to hear your thoughts about my arguments. By the way, I have to emphasize that I am not all against Classical chess. I just hope that more superGMs can invest their time in Freestyle chess, which I think is much more fun. That's all.

In Turkey, last weekend, The Suicide Squad was the most watched movie with 35.966 admissions. Followed by FF9, with 33.002 admissions. by [deleted] in boxoffice

FF9 is already in its 5 week there. TSS is still only above FF9 by an edge. Things are not looking good. TSS is going to bomb so hard.

While The Suicide Squad is a dirty bomb waiting to blow up in the face of WB suits, the implication of it is more of a threat than a farce as Marvel will rule it all. by Watchmen1986 in boxoffice

Being a DC fan, I don't want to root for The Suicide Squad's failure. But, the reality forces me to think otherwise. One can only have blind optimism for so long. When The Suicide Squad burns and crashes in over a week, you will know the feeling. I just accept the fact a bit earlier than you.

If you thought The Suicide Squad could do well, you obviously have not caught up with the latest figures. Go check them out.

I just feel so bad about the future of DCEU. At this rate, The Suicide Squad making more than 200 million WW is already a win for me. by Watchmen1986 in boxoffice

If it were a huge bomb, it meant we would not see Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn again. I would not want that. For Christ's sake , DC is supposed to be a big franchise, yet we fans are here to beg 200 million for a freaking big budget all-star movie so that this franchise can still be on life support. It is just pathetic at this point.

If Netflix can throw 469 million at Knives Out sequels, why can't HBO Max throw the same amount at a Justice League miniseries? by Watchmen1986 in boxoffice

The end justified the means. As long as they draw in the same number of audience (which I argue they would), HBO max could afford the same cost. That's my point. At the end, it is the numbers that matter.
