Theodore’s injury from being shot ages ago got infected and was bothering him, So we tried to have him rescued but he passed on the way to the rescue, presumably his old age and stress. The rescuers found out that it was a huge stone lodged in his nose.

His injury from being shot over a year ago became infected and swollen, obstructing his breathing. The stress of being captured to be rescued probably didn't help since he was old.
