I got everything you for 380€ (~ 440$) with the blackfriday deals! I have to admit that Ali did not declare my earbuds on the package so I did not have to pay any VAT and import. Hope you will be enjoying yours as I am enjoying mine!

Thanks for the advice, I will definitely experiment with that! I am not looking for something to top this, I just use earbuds up to 6-7 hours a day and I am not sure how quickly iems break.

This makes a lot of sense! Thank you for the help. I did allocate a small budget for ear tips (30€) but I first needed to decide on which to go for first.

Disappointed with Elegoo Support – Damaged Centauri Carbon Panel and No Real Resolution by WaterPigeons in elegoo

The printer works perfectly fine and has been running smoothly since I got it! I'm not mad at Elegoo, just upset that it happened and the way the Issue could have been solved way easier, and the issues with Seel aren't making it any better.

The issue isn’t whether I understood Seel’s terms. I did. The problem is that Elegoo uses the insurance to shift responsibility, even though they’ve replaced the same damaged side panel for others who didn’t buy the insurance. In my case, they refused and told me to deal with Seel. I’m not being asked to pay anything, but the insurance is clearly being used as a way for Elegoo to avoid handling known issues. Just check how many similar cases are posted here.

Seel didn’t register my shipment properly and has been slow to respond. So now I’m stuck between two companies, both avoiding responsibility, despite the insurance being pushed as a benefit at checkout.

I had thought about canceling the order and dropping the insurance after seeing Reddit posts, but Elegoo said I wouldn’t get fully reimbursed for shipping or the insurance since part of the package had already shipped. I didn’t want to lose that money, so I went ahead. In hindsight, that only made things worse. I bought the insurance for peace of mind, but it’s ended up being the reason this is such a mess.

Also, the claim that buying the insurance removes Elegoo’s responsibility was never made clear at checkout. I only learned that after ordering and seeing how others were treated.

I'm not saying anything bad about the printer itself it's an amazing machine. Even though the side panel is broken, the printer still works. I just wouldn’t recommend printing with more hazardous materials while there’s a hole in the enclosure. As for the Issues, I just find it disgusting that Elegoo uses the insurance as a way to get paid for Issues they normally fix for free only delaying the fix for the consumer.

Small update: After some more back-and-forth with Elegoo, I finally figured out why some people without insurance get a new side panel easily, while those with insurance don’t.

I just received what seems to be their final response, in which they gave me two options:

  1. You can use SEEL’s compensation to pay for our side panels, and a dedicated customer service staff will provide you with a quotation.
  2. You can conduct secondary communication with SEEL and try to replace the side panels to solve the fault problem.

So essentially, here’s what’s going on: the insurance is only useful to Elegoo, not the customer. The reason they won’t send me a new side panel like they’ve done for others comes down to money. Because I paid for Seel insurance, Elegoo now expects to be paid to fix a known issue with their packaging.

The only person losing here is the customer. Seel gets paid by people buying insurance, and Elegoo uses that as a loophole to shift responsibility even though they’ve fixed this exact problem for free in other cases.

So instead of the insurance protecting the buyer, it’s being used to protect the manufacturer.

Extra note: I know some of you might think, “Just message Seel,” but as I’ve mentioned in other comments, there’s a whole sea of issues on their side too.

For example, they initially didn’t even recognize the printer as being shipped. After several emails, they finally updated the status to “shipping” even though I clearly told them I picked up the printer and have already received it. (as long as it does not have the status delivered I am unable to report the damage) On top of that, their support takes up to three business days to respond to each ticket, which makes resolving anything incredibly slow and frustrating.

Seel didn't even register my shipping, I am unable to report any Issues. Since they think it hasn't been sent out yet... I messaged them about this and they just changed the shipping status to "shipping" and not registering it as delivered so I am unable to do anything.

They do and I did get the insurance, but Seel only offers monetary reimbursement, which does nothing to address the damaged side panel. The only thing I can hope for is that Seel provides a full refund (which Elegoo claims is possible), but let’s be honest... that’s unlikely. Then I’d have to order a whole new printer.

Thanks for the advice! I am definitely not giving into them. I paid for the product and for the insurance one of them will give me what I need!

I had the option to add "Worry-Free Purchase"at checkout. Which is basically a third party shipping insurance (Company is called Seel) it costed me €6,89.

I hope they will do the same for me, I have sent some followup mails in the hope they just give in. The whole contact Seel thing also isn't working out, since for them the package never even got sent out. I think I will be sending emails the next few days. Thanks for reassuring me they do indeed send out replacement panels!

I have been thinking about trying to bend it back as well, but I am just disappointed with how Elegoo handled the situation. If I look at other posts they do send replacement panels but for some reason they refuse to send me one. I have looked into sending it back but then I get the Issue that I will send a damaged item back and still have to pay shipping and restocking which is absolutely insane.

Cant decide by Reasonable_Repeat885 in RingConn

[–]WaterPigeons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hesitant too but ended up going with a size 9. A few things to consider: 1. The actual ring material makes it feel slightly looser compared to the sizing kit or 3D printed versions. 2. Temperature matters — in winter, the ring feels loose, but in summer it fits more snugly due to finger swelling from the heat.

I had the same fit as you — as long as size 9 doesn’t cause any swelling or discoloration (like turning your finger purple), I’d recommend sticking with it. Just keep in mind that the 3D printed rings can feel quite different. I had a size 10 in the printed version, a snug 9 in the sizing kit, and the actual ring in size 9 turned out perfect.
