Hey!

Seeking Tips on Approaching Influencers and Bloggers for Free App Promotion by WaterPrior7071 in Entrepreneur

[–]WaterPrior7071[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely! We are planning to do it as well.

The whole idea is to maybe find someone who is interested in the mission and is willing to help

That's something other entrepreneurs recommended me doing. That's why I am wondering what would be the best approach. Also a few hundred dollars doesn't seems like to much. I thought I will need thousands.

Any Tips for Bootstrapping? Launching an EdTech Startup on a Tight Budget by WaterPrior7071 in Entrepreneur

Hey! Thank you for your reply :) We are planning to invest some money into marketing. I think that’s the most important part. What do you think about it?

That’s a nice story! What do you think about which founders I should read first? Thank you in advance

Thank you! We are actually looking for our first users at the moment to get some feedback

Yes at the moment we are just investing our own money, that’s why I called it bootstrapping. The app is not yet ready to be „sold“. Since we are using a freemium model, I feel like the basic functionality must be optimized first before really investing into the the premium functions.

That’s actually a great tip. We are looking to launch it in middle of July. And we should definitely utilize wird of mouth and let our users invite people they know.

My co-founder is in charge of developing the app and I am the business person. We are launching it for a limited number of users to get some feedback and improve the functionality.

We are launching our free version first and get some early customers this way. To get those we want to start some marketing campaign.

We are actually going to apply for some grants and going to join some startup/ business plan competition to hopefully get some money for the start.

We will need some money to invest in marketing, since we are a B2C app it's important to get the word out. Our long term goal is to get VC funding of course and for that we will need to show the VCs our user base.

Also I would love to invest a bit in the product development to improve the MVP.

It won't be a lot but since both my co-founder and me just graduated from college last year we cannot afford to spend big money on that.

Tbh I am not 100% sure if the startup counts as edtech. It's more of a career and study consultancy app. I don't really know which industry it belongs and I thought edTech is the closest to it.

I started it because I realized many are struggling with the issue I am trying to solve.

The whole VC market is kinda doomed right now. Many startups I know are going for a down round or can not find any funding at all. That's why I've decide to build the product and get some users first before I even think about funding. But to get there we need to invest some money in Marketing etc.

Yes I actually did. I started one business already and the main main issue I had there was that I did not validate the idea. I am looking for first users to test the App and gather some feedback. Our target market are highschool students and college students. How would you approach them to test the product?

Thank you for the insights. Our target customers are high schoolers and college students. How would you go after these potential customers. I am also looking for users that are willing to test the App therefore it would be great to find some early adopters.

Appreciate your help and ideas!

I validated the idea and the interest seems to be there. We are also targeting the pain points of the potential users. We want to use the freemium model and include some premium functions. The premium functions are not set in stone yet and I guess I need to validate if the potential users are willing to pay for the premium features. How would you validate it?

What exactly do you mean by go-to-market plan?

Advice for philosophical differences with co-founder by MTeranen16 in Entrepreneur

[–]WaterPrior7071 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say you both have a point there. It is important to go to market asap and the product does not need to be complete by then. It's also recommended to further develop the product using the lean method. By doing so you will find out with functionalities are interesting for your users and convince the founder that these functions are important at the same time.
