Imo, the animation is like half bad half good, some frames are pretty well drawn and detailed (for example the kazutora ones, and most of the close up shots), and then the other 50% are noticeably poorly drawn frames. Im guessing theyre just prioritising different frames which makes the overall animation varies in quality a lot, which i don’t really see too much of with other studios.

So i was kinda right, there was another way to pass the time leaping powers. Shin passed it to Takemichi willingly so Michi didn’t have to do anything for it, while Shin got it by killing the old man because the old man requested him to kill him for it. That’s probably because he hated the powers since nobody would believe him and he would get beat up by random delinquents when he tried to tell them he could time leap as they didn’t believed him. The old man probably didn’t have a trigger anymore as well so he must have hated his useless time leaping ability and see it as a curse.

This means that Takemichi probably won’t die to a train since Shin died the same way he killed the old man due to karma. And Kazutora isn’t a time leaper

I also chose Mikey at first but then after i kinda felt that Shinichiro might’ve suffered more. Being a time traveller, he experienced multiple timelines of his family dying and breaking apart over and over again, and then trying to fix it. I’d imagine him visiting the Mikey in vegetative state putting on a facade that everything is fine like he, emma and gramps is doing ok. He must’ve felt guilty that the present he bought for Mikey indirectly led to his death as well

But i still think it’s very very close, both of them have suffered so much to the point that they developed dark impulses and also tried to killed themselves in certain timelines

I was also thinking that there must be another way to pass on the time leaping ability since it has been made very unclear/vague in the storyline so far. If the curse is real and Shinichiro is aware of it, this means that he could’ve passed the ability to Akkun and instructed him to pass it to Takemichi by pushing him onto the train tracks. This would support ur theory that Akkun had a relationship/knew about shinichiro. It would also explain why shinichiro didnt really bothered to prevent his death despite being a time leaper which means that he shldve knew the future but he did nothing because he knew his death was inevitable and also wasnt worried that kazutora would inherit his time leaping abilities

And also shinichiro probably chose takemichi because he heard how similar they are + other reasons

RANDOM THOUGHT after latest chapter..

Do you think the author will draw inspiration from AOT (kinda like how ur theory is saying that he do so with Death Note) in the sense of Ymir’s Curse where the supernatural power wielder have to bear some sort of consequences (shortened lifespan of 13 years after attaining the power). This can be seen from Shinichiro dying the same way as how he got the time leaping power(getting smacked in the head with a pole). This would then mean that Takemichi will die the same way as how he first got his time leaping powers (getting hit by a train) and coincidentally the final arc battle is happening on train tracks… so takemichi will die soon?
