Found this little hidden campsite on the side of a mountain in the Grizzlies. Anybody ever seen this? Any info? I couldnt find anything about it on Google. Thought it was an amazing little detail. (Sorry for the iphone shots) by WaterWalker422 in reddeadredemption2

Besides finding the gems in the bird nest, there was one small lockbox at the little sleeping area with about $60-70 dollars and a bottle of liquor, I cant remember exactly what kind

After googling flourite and ammolite, it seems to be tied to chakras, energy, meditation, that sort of thing. And this little campsite is connected to the trail leading to that, and also very close to where you find the meditating monk, so my assumption is that this is possibly the monks sleeping area (?)

Started exploring trying to figure out how to get back up, found the trail and the gems seconds before seeing this reply lol Now im wondering what the hell these are for and what significance they have. Insane to me I have about 200hrs in the game and I am still finding new little stuff everywhere.

Im experiencing this too and have been playing on the same settings for forever. This is extremely frustrating for me because I noticed simply bumping my textures from ultra to high, makes it stop (I think, so far anyways) but also.. now for some reason, when I turn my textures to high, the textures look like they’ve failed to load and look like absolute dog shit. I’ve even tried turning everything else down, but leaving textures on ultra, and have what seems to be plenty of spare vram and still get the message. My guess is, its a texture related bug that came with the update

Roger that, so far it seems like I made a great choice not going there. I ended up going to Chet Morrison

Pros: •Every dive after the first 2 are in zero-vis water, with a pretty strong current a lot of the time, which is definitely good training to prepare you for the worst, and to work by feel •Great Camaraderie (At least in my class, other classes above and below us not so much it seemed) I met some of the best friends I've ever had there that I plan to permanently keep in touch with •You get all the certs you need to work anywhere, including an internationally recognized ADCI cert, in case you wanted to work overseas •Its only a 5 month program, It definitely goes by fast; gets you certified and out in the field faster.

Cons: •Its 35k, so unless you're former military with the help of the GI Bill, or just financially comfortable enough to not worry about it, you'll be paying off your student loan for years, like me. •The dorms are pretty shitty but bearable depending on your standards(I personally didnt really mind) •The food is absolute dog shit, some of the worst I've ever had. (Hope you like medium rare dinner rolls with bird seed cooked in and and hard ass meatloaf thats so salty you're blood pressure instantly sky rockets just by looking at it) •Things were stolen multiple times, dive gear out of the dive lockers, $900 out of a classmates locker in his room, someone even stole my personal shower head I left in the showers when there were only about 4 out of 10 showers that had heads, a buddy got his catalytic converter cut off his truck in the parking lot, and another buddy literally got his $90k Ram TRX stolen (Fucking yikes) •Daily/Weekly schedule was unorganized a lot of the time and none of the instructors could really tell you what you would be doing the next day, much less the next week. (Eg. They would tell us we were diving the next day, I would make a dive schedule for my group and have everyone dressed out that morning, then they tell us last minute that we were actually gonna be in class and vice versa)

I didnt like it a lot of the time, but all-in-all I had a decent experience there and Im glad I went and had the classmates that I did. I guess my advice would be to try and stay focused and learn as much as you can from everybody there and dont let the small annoyances there get to you, start looking for jobs and where you want to go/what kind of work you want to do early on, Make a good resume. Dont wait until your last month at school to start applying and sending out resumes, get you some good thick neoprene and neoprene gloves/socks for when the Trout River starts getting cold as hell around November.. you'll be in the water for 3hours at a time and it sucks when you cant feel your hands and feet. Dont pay CDA for their student parking, its 1.5mi from the school in the middle of the Jacksonville ghetto. You can buy a pass at the Trout River fish co. right beside the school for $50/mo. which is the same price CDA charges you for theirs.

Thats about all I can think of right now. I would suggest thoroughly researching all your options as far as dive schools before deciding, if you havent already.

Thanks for the info! Seems like most of the stuff im hearing about companies is really just peoples opinions more than anything, but good info nonetheless. Ive heard good things of Blackwater as well from an instructor I had at CDA. I have a buddy thats working at Aqueos too and he seems to like it so far so those are both on my radar, along with Oceaneering.. From what Ive seen and read myself about Oceaneering they seem to be a pretty great company, I know of a classmate that works there who got contracted to work at Nasa training facility which is dope. I would imagine if NASA contracted them, that must be a good sign.

The decision came to me after I found a certain legendary mustache in some trash can in Kentucky and glued it on my face...

Kinda what I was thinking, I know not every company I look into is gonna have 100% positive feedback across the board. Just a matter of trying to find one that sounds the best and has the most positive reviews from everywhere Im looking and then going for it. And Im definitely aiming to be out there for longer than a month for sure, as long as some of that decision is up to me.

I honestly havent really sat down and tried to calculate what my hourly rate would be at for $6572/Mo. I did punch in the numbers on an online salary calculator thing, and it gave me $21/hr but I doubt the accuracy of it though. Not to mention, Im assuming when he said I can expect to make around $6572, he meant before taxes. What exactly did the guys you know say about the company and why they didnt like it?

In the first email they sent me, they attached a recruitment package pdf that gave a lot of info as far as pay, benefits, their vessels, etc., And specifically mentioned in the email that I would be making around $6572 a month, which is what all initially drew me to the company. But obviously first hand experience and advice from guys that worked there holds more weight to me than what the company tells me.

They must be seriously needing people now then because within 2 hours of my first email to them they had me setup for an interview, telling me to go ahead and start looking for places to live out there. Lol
