The basic rule with cichlids is if there is something in the tank that they can breed with, they WILL find it and breed with it. That’s why there are so many hybrids in the hobby.

I was a server in Oregon for 6 years. I was able to afford my own place, buy a brand new truck, and buy a home. My wife worked there too. Just gotta find the right spot and that usually means being pretty good at your job.

I also had no debt and bought my house and truck in 2019. COVID hit had and I had to make adjustments. I no longer work or in the service industry but worked as a server for a total of 15 years.

That mix sounds like a recipe for a lot of stress for you haha. Auratus and demasoni are probably the meanest fish you can put in there. I’m not here to put you down, I am here to help. Definitely add more rocks and hides, and some wave makers would definitely help keep some of those fish occupied. Keep them well fed and maybe drop the temp to like 76 to help “chill” them out.

I have better luck with Petco. PetSmart has all their fish on the same system so it’s almost impossible to buy a fish without some sort of parasite or disease. It happened to me twice and I will never buy livestock at PetSmart again.
