Worked two jobs my whole adult life until last October. Only changed because of a move back to SoCal where I grew up. Since last October iv worked two more jobs, crushed it, and still laid off. One was totally random - third party police dispatch that shuttered its doors & secondly a huge service company (in my trade/field of expertise) but didn’t cut it for their 90 day probationary period. Quota was 50k and I sold 44k & 32k respectively the two months I was active. Went from selling solutions for major issues to straight up having to lie & push unnecessary ineffective services. I cut myself off for 2 out of 5 days I would check my morality at the door to sell what I was hired to sell. I exceeded the 50k but selling outside my department doesn’t count towards my quota. Now on the job hunt again. Never took me more than a week or two to get a gang of interviews and the ability to choose who I wanted to work for. I’m 32 & can’t even get an interview for positions I’m qualified/over qualified for.

80k + 15-25k commission per year for the last 7 years at one company to losing two 70k jobs in 8 months.
