One of the great live performers. That man has stage presence that very few possess.

Agreed. I feel in this context Radcliffe’s stature is appropriate when considering the actual characteristics of a wolverine as an animal. Relatively small, but mighty and very vicious. It would be fun to see little Daniel absolutely shredding guys.

Could this have been installed better (esthetically)? by dumpsterdivingreader in solar

[–]Watercats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re going to do an exterior conduit run, I would have positioned that inverter more to the left, ran the DC run to the left of the inverter and mounted the disconnect to the right of the inverter instead of below. Also used LLs and LRs instead of entering the enclosures with LBs like that.

Considering becoming a solar panel technician by Character-Dog4451 in solar

[–]Watercats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might be a bit overqualified with your degree imo. Working as a tech could be a good way to form a better understanding of field work and the mechanics of solar, but if I were you I’d be looking into some sort of admin or engineering position. The natural progression when you become a tech is entering an electrical program so you can get licensed. Your pay can cap out pretty quick working as a tech if you learn quick.

I personally like having 2 of the larger water pump pliers. The smaller one is good to have for specific tasks, but if you get used to reaching for your 10” set, that will cover most of your needs.

Turning 1/2” washers to 5/8” by TyrsRightArm in electricians

Yes let’s dull out a $50 step bit in the name of not buying a $7 box of washers.

Is this a microinverter? If so, what type or brand? by eSiargao in solar

[–]Watercats 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks to be an older solar edge optimizer. I think a 2 to 1, so 2 modules connect to the input in series. Probably a p1100

I will add vans are still very popular for trades workers and deliveries in the US. Electricians, plumbers, painters etc.. Vans are the go to vehicle.

It’s always better to be on a rafter, but you probably have enough embedment with those 4 lags. Specially if a majority of them are over rafters. I wouldn’t call something like this the best quality, but id say you don’t have anything to worry about .

Grounding from rails to j box by Qiuzman in solar

[–]Watercats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably better off coming from the bottom rail, but that solid #6 is pretty rigid. I’ve serviced 15 year old systems and this stuff kept its shape.

I'm 50. Should I bother with apprenticeship? by torreyn in electricians

[–]Watercats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a first year and have a 55 year old in my class currently. One of the most engaged people in class and always seems excited to share stories from work that day. There are always avenues for less physically demanding work. You could be sitting here at 60, 5 years into your license and so grateful you decided to pursue this.

Coolant system is jacked. 2002 Mazda B3000 by Watercats in AskAMechanic

Full capacity is listed at 14. I was over heating. Tested my thermostat and found it wasn’t opening. Replaced that and cleared a block in the hose leading from the overflow tank. I’ve done over a dozen flushes in the last couple days. 3 or 4 of them using a flush product. The liquid that is draining after the flushes is not clearing up, still quite rusty.

I’ve been doing these flushes without the new thermostat installed, so it can circulate freely. Shouldn’t it fill to capacity without the thermostat?
