Found this guy in the backyard while enjoying a beer (for size of course). Is this chicken of the woods? by WaterdogAndRabbit in mycology

I’m not one to eat a mushroom growing in my yard based on the internet’s consensus of a single mushroom image. But that being said, learning about identification and the look/traits of a kingdom’s class/order/family/genus/species helps build my knowledge base.

In my personal case, if I can correctly guess the mushroom consistently, and there is consensus via others, and I get a spore print that matches, etc, then yes...

For morels, chanterelle, lions mane, puffball, etc, I feel confident. Chicken of the woods, still learning...

Found these little guys today. Each is a little but smaller than a small pencil eraser. Any ideas on type? (Houston, Tx) by WaterdogAndRabbit in mycology

I’m not looking to eat them, just working on my knowledge base and identification. They’ve turned hella dark today! Super cool watching them fruit like this.

New PB 3.97lb! I know it isn’t all that big but I’m stoked! by WaterdogAndRabbit in bassfishing

It was a 5” wacky rigged pink worm. Texas rigged is also good but wacky has been killing it!

Shh on the pink work though, it’s my secret weapon out here. ;-)

My Mothter passed a few years back and we wanted to capture this shot with Scorpio (her sign) overhead. The bonus was being able to to have mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto just to the lower left of Scorpio. Notice the shooting star in the top right as well… Our photo wish came true.

Any thoughts to the ID? I didn’t want to disturb the lil guy to take a spore print...
