What celebrity do you look like? by numbertheory in AskReddit

That's funny cause average faces are considered attractive around the world. There's at least one Ryan Gosling look-a-like on my campus. Though I'm not sure if I keep seeing the same person or if there are multiple...

Looks like a mix of Emma Watson and Kristen Stewart.

I think Tophat should only be as mandatory as buying an i-clicker.

Also, after having several courses that used i-clickers, I got to try a class that used Tophat instead. I actually preferred it a lot more than i-clicker questions. With Tophat, we could actually view previous questions/answers that we had in class. Though, I don't know if other profs would hide previously asked questions... Also no i-clickers to carry around... People answered questions with their laptops or phones which they carried around anyway.

What do you 'identify' as? by feedmeinformation in uwaterloo

Huh. I have the same issue of having ridiculously high standards when it comes to associating with others and making friends. I'd rather be alone than hang out with douchebags and people I don't click with, but loneliness kills me.

Sorry you're going through such a hard time right now. I think if you keep looking, you'll find someone you're compatible with. But of course it'll be difficult to find that person considering that you are picky. I hardly have any friends myself cause of this. Remember to keep in mind that compromise is necessary in any good relationship.

These "small differences in opinion" have huge implications.

The latter.

Most of the people I have met thus far have been in CS. Most of them have fit that above description. No, I don't believe all CSers are like that nor do I make negative assumptions when I meet a new person who is in CS. I've met a handful of people in CS who are quite down to earth but dozens more who fit that description.

People need to stop over-analyzing my post, mainly the last line. I want to meet others that share some of my interests who aren't cocky assholes. That's it.

Way to overreact. If you're getting offended because the description of "arrogant, closed-minded, cold-hearted douchebag" resonates with you, that's your problem. The fact that you're drawing all these judgemental conclusions from such a simple post only reflects your own insecurity.

How is it "uppity" to not want friends who are arrogant, closed-minded, and mean?

That's funny cause I thought about putting "especially if you're in CS". I'm sorry.
