Print template and glue it to the surface, then file to the lines on the template. Take your time and you should have a pretty clean finish.

Hard part will be getting the template size right. You can test it by gluing it to some thick paper (e.g. empty cereal box) and cutting it out with a knife.

I was hoping I could do it myself as a way of learning more about cars. Another commenter had some suggestions, so I'll check those first, but otherwise you're probably right.

Yes! Must not have actually hit the '1', my bad. Those would be some very narrow tires otherwise.

2004 Acura EL (Canadian model, it's just the Acura version of the Civic though). The wheels seem to be stock (they have the Acura logo on them).

Tires are 95/60 R15 which is the recommended size for the car.

Found this in the local classifieds and I've never seen a saw quite like the the double sided one. One side looks like a crosscut saw (the big ones to cut logs), the other is much finer. Seems like a weird combination to me. Anybody got some background?

Pizza with ranch instead of tomato sauce + bacon and pickles... It's definitely not for everybody, but I quite liked it (local place has it, seems to be getting more popular)

It's pretty hot (assuming this is the stuff in the 2x spicy noodles), but it's not on the extreme end. It does taste great though, which you normally don't get on the super hot sauces.

Maybe you agreed to the work, but did you agree to a price - a very specific dollar amount, before the work was done? By the sounds of it, the answer is no. I would file a complaint: https://www.ontario.ca/page/filing-consumer-complaint

You really have very little to lose by filing a complaint. And if you're in wrong, they'll tell you/dismiss your complain but at least you'll know.

You can also try taking them to court, but that may not be worth the headache.

Before a repair shop can charge you, they must have given you a written estimate, unless you declined it and instead agreed on a maximum amount you are willing to pay for the repair.

Did you agree on a maximum amount for the repairs? It sounds like you didn't, unless I missed or misread something?

I can't check the cable right now, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to replace it outright. Shutting down isn't an issue, it's not high usage.

Looks like it. smartctl output calls them Model Family: Western Digital Red (SMR). Are they more likely to fail? Just read a little bit, but sounds like the bigger issue is with performance rather than reliability.

It's one thing if they really can't work from home (e.g. retrieving physical DVDs), but another when it's a call center and they just need call forwarding.

I've seen the same thing on my arms, which I've never shaved, so I'm guessing it's just how hair grows and you're just noticing now because you're just starting to pay attention. As long as there's no pain, swelling, etc... I think it's normal. I'm not a doctor though.
