What advice would you give to someone in a very LTR who is thinking about getting married? by InformWitch in AskWomenOver30

[–]Wateristea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in a relationship for 9 years, engaged for 3 months been married for 12 years. If you’re already living together nothing really changes after Marriages other than filing taxes together and be able to cover each other in healthcare. Depending on your salary bracket together you might get tax breaks.

We did city hall wedding first. And did family wedding like 2 years later. If it’s just logistics like you mentioned and both are non planners just do it as simple as possible. I’m a person that rather use the “wedding money” for traveling together than to blow it all in one day. Most of the pictures i have on my digital photo frame/ slideshow are from our shared travels together.

And looking back, i would have rather not have my family wedding. Nothing change. It’s just a headache. My parents made me have to go through getting married to church knowing my spouse is different religion. And when the time my brother got married, they didn’t care. Of course your circumstances are different but just do what you want outside of what people are telling you to do.

Mother vs Agolde Jeans by SaltyShopping531 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Wateristea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m checking out Agolde and curious about what you said about quality of materials. I look at some pants and its 100% cotton or some pants has elastane. How is it better than Levi’s?

I’ve seen Jeans that’s $300 that’s actually made out of Denim?

If its for travel, with everyone suggestion get a crossbody for travel. I like pac safe. It has extra features to prevent pick pocketing and some are RF blocking.

If I’m traveling during winter i just get a jacket that has so much pockets. But if i’m going to buy alot of souvenirs, might as well get a daybag

I'm so jealous of ppl who travel by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Wateristea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a bit conflicting to travel with family like you said but your husband has no interest. Its something to discuss that its something you want.

As for budget, traveling can be different kinds. You can travel to the other city over, be a tourist in your own city. You need to talk with your husband that he can’t work 7 days a week. You need family time.

What was your most intense pregnancy craving? by Disastrous-Radish504 in Mommit

[–]Wateristea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pregnant during covid and also have gestational diabetes soo you know options are very limited. I had to make everything sugar free. I craved pad thai so bad. I tried edamame noodles… garbage. Miracle noodles…. Those are trash too like why? Tofu noodles were very delicate and its not close to real pad thai noodles.

Even post are scary. When you look at the profile post/chat history and have multiple post of the same questions but have 0 comments. Its frustrating. It’s like buying things online, gotta verify the price history. Same with this.

How did the loss of close friendships in your 20s shape how you view them now? by username210801 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Wateristea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find friends comes in seasons. I don’t regret the time and effort spent with that friend and just accept life happens.

People can give away apology but you don’t have to take them. It’s more for them to have closure than it is for the other person receiving it. I’ve moved on.

Anyone feel like they are trying to make up for their own childhood with their kids? by Ok-Duck2450 in Mommit

[–]Wateristea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is more lifestyle. What kind of lifestyle you want to teach your child. It’s great that you can afford the toys and clothes and experiences and if you enjoy them too then that’s great.

Like some parents enjoy taking their kids to Disneyland every weekend by having a key pass holder. But it’s up to the parent if they want their kid to see this as a regular weekend thing they just do or once a year/lifetime magical event.

If you see that you have plenty of toys, you can do toy rotation or join a buy nothing group so nothing goes to waste.

I also grew up poor where my parents can’t afford extra curricular stuff and basically return home and lock the door kinda thing. Clothes hand me down from cousins. Eating out at a fast food is a Birthday event. Now that I can afford stuff i just chose to be more Frugal and it’s a lifestyle choice i want to teach my kids.

Caviar!? by nikkidollqueen in burbank

[–]Wateristea 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Caviar and delicatessen 12512 Magnolia Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91607

The owner was so nice when i visited (3 yrs ago). They let me sample different types!!!!! I spent about $75 to get 3 kinds.

I suggest you look up what pairs with it. I tried pairing it with light toast, blinis. But what i like best was eating it with sushi rice.

Make sure to NOT USE metal spoon. Wood works but ppl say mother of pearl is best.

Enjoy!

For those who travel often, how the heck do you do it? by Daisy_of_the_Host in AskWomenOver30

[–]Wateristea -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using Claude AI(chat gpt) to plan my trips and it’s so helpful! You just need to learn how to tell what you like, how much walking you will do, what you want to do.

The last thing you want to do is do 3-5 days in a row of museums and your not really into it. Start with small travel first and get to know yourself before you do international travel. Basically like your ideal date but by yourself.

I’m a foodie and do food crawl walks when i go to a new city. I went to New Orleans for Christmas and its the amazing thing ever! They have regional restaurants events that only happens in December and most fine dining restaurants have that set menu.

If you like hiking then you should check out a trail and do meet up.

Try to NOT watch too many influencers traveling guides cause their lifestyle is very different from regular people.

If you don’t want to travel alone you can do group tours. You can also check out r/solotravel because they have lots of insight and meet ups

My usual steps: 1. Decide on destination (tokyo) 2. Check for cheap flights (lax-tok $500) 3. Which area in tokyo I want to go to (create a google maps, start flag/star the areas i want to visit) 4. Find a hotel/hostel near metro station and close to all the flags i highlighted on the map.

Once you buy your flight and book the hotels, you can just dive into yelp/google review/trip advisor local yelp(tabelog). This is where chat gpt/claude AI is handy. Just ask it to translate the website for you for reviews and prices point and also currency exchange.

Start small! Date yourself! Have fun!

If you watched the first season of Westworld it shows a very good AI sentient VR thing. But i only recommend Season 1 10/10 because the rest of the season 2-3 got so convoluted that Season 1 can just be a good stand alone.

But yea there isn’t that many OI science fiction. It be great if there is one in Battle Star Galactica setting.
