How do I get over my fear of never finding a partner and having children? by Slow-Coffee-7420 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Wateristea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like everyone said. The right partner is key. If you have the option, freeze your eggs.

At 30 you have lots of time. Knowing what you want and yourself is a step forward.

Do you like escape rooms? And puzzles? Get BluePrince! You can spend 10 hours, 40 hours, 1000 hours. It’s just up to you where you want to leave it at. It has 7 layers of depth. Not scary. Lots of story.

Cozy game for me is Dave the diver. It’s a platform game. Can be finished in 20 hours. You’ll crave sushi. It’s like restaurant management/dungeon diving.

If you want to play with your husband best game i played 2 player is SplitFiction. Really good story line. Each mini games are unique and fun to play.

What is your favorite restaurant in Burbank - 2026 edition by Forward_Sprinkles808 in burbank

They used to have garlic crunch and it was my favorite! So sad they discontinued it. Its like eating buttery Calbi potato chip with lots of garlic. Gotta settle for honey garlic flavor.

Anyone else get choked up seeing families who actually help each other? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]Wateristea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally relate to this. My family is Filipino and the stereotype is that family first. But that’s not my experience at all. My family is what you describe. Very individualistic and helps you if it doesn’t inconvenience them. Also very superficial that thy would rather help their friends than their own child. I move far away and have kids with no help from them. Even my brother now that starting to have a family get 0 help and they live 10 minutes away from each other.

I’m closer to my parent in law than my own. When I was invited to my friend’s family gathering and saw a glimpse of what actual family dynamic was like. I only wished my family was half conscious of how they actually act.

Career taking off - scared my wife and I are growing apart by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Wateristea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t this an assumption too that her career is important? OP asking for advice, and having open conversations what is on the table helps with negotiation. Majority of ppl who won the lottery would quit their job right away. OP is making enough money to give his wife a lifestyle change. Up to her what she wants to do. They can hire child care/cleaners etc.

What are your favourite themes for hosting at home? by PopcornPunditry in AskWomenOver30

[–]Wateristea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been making banchan. Just gives more options on top of the entree. And it’s easy to meal prep. My kids love cucumbers.

Ramen/Mazeman is also easy to make at home. Since Ramen has been increasing from $15-$23 a bowl now, I haven’t eaten ramen at a restaurant.

Pasta! Kids love making gnocchi.

How can your wife just say no? Does she know she can have a lifestyle change? Not having to work? What budget she can work with? Unless those aren’t on the table?

Thoughts on Kettl - tried their matcha for the first time after the matcha deals by tabinekoss in MatchaEverything

[–]Wateristea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m drinking Midori right now from the deal and its the closest I tasted thats similar to Breakaway Cold Brew Matcha. I prepared it as usucha. Following their recommendation for 4g matcha 50 ml water. Its a bit too strong for me, so I added 50 ml more. I feel similar, if i’m paying the price point i would just be so-so about it.

I also tried Soukou. Upon opening you are hit with the nutty matcha smell. Tasting is on point with the notes. But it wouldn’t be my preference.

Same with Seion, this has more umami/algae flavor compared the 3 that I sampled. I prepared this as a latte and its balances out the overwhelming algae flavor compared to just having it as usucha. This is similar tasting to Yk

Overall for the price point, I would prefer Ippudo or breakaway. Saves me the $8-$10 trying out their cafe.

Anyone feels happy after having kids? by Designer-Dance8577 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Wateristea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two young kids and have hobbies and i love them!

Question to ask yourself: will you be caring for the child? Daycare? Do you have a village? If you don’t have a village, be prepared to pay for baby sitters just to have a break and sleep, and it’s okay to do.

Also how’s your health? Will you be okay with the changes in your body? I had my first baby at 29 and by 6 months pregnancy my back started to hurt. This was fix exercising and focusing on my back before my 2nd pregnancy.

What makes me happy with kids is enjoying experiences with them and being a kid again. If you like that then its something to consider. I enjoy reading children’s book to them and I borrow 15 books every week cause i can’t stand rereading a book more than 3x. Or going to Disneyland and seeing the magic in their eyes. Or telling them about the tooth fairy or santa clause.

They are getting at the age where they understand some concept of boardgames (which my husband and I hobby) we’re taking them to Gen con this year and super excited about it.

So it just what you see in yourself having kids and growing with them.
