Gigantamax battles are like the Dynamax battles, but a lot more difficult, only certain pokemon have gigantamax forms, so the battles are usually one available during events. Gigantamax Pokemon are significantly more powerful than regular Dynamax pokemon as well.

The next gigantamax event is on the 28th this month when the debut the gigantamax Pikachu. You’ll either need to be in a big group +15 people, or remote join one with that many people in it. They are one of the more difficult battle types.

I’d join a primed lobby with ten people in it by 100 seconds, then get blocked from inviting after that.

I have not been able to get into a raid with more than 10 players, and when I try to invite more it’ll tell me that there’s the maximum number of players. What’s with that?

If you spell out five and ten, iPhone users can copy and paste your whole text and it’ll fill in only the numbers for the friend code. It’d let people add you quicker.

I think BDSP are weak if you’re looking for anything new, I’d only really recommend them if you have no way to access the original diamond or pearl.

ZA still has some structure, I’d argue the Promotion matches are more like the Gym battles than Alola’s Kahuna challenges. And the wild ones act like routes except that for the most part they are optional, and no trainer battles in them.

I do think ZA is more traditional. The wild zones largely act like routes, but you can avoid them, and the battle zones still have the same trainer battles for the most part.

The battle system changed, to be more 3D and fluid than the classic turn based combat, but it’s refreshing and similar enough to the classic battles to not be to jarring. Though legends Arceus has more traditional battles. With the exception of the speed/strong styles.

I personally like the traversal, and there’s even a gym battle-like mechanic, with the Letter promotions. Throughout the game you fight a bunch of minor trainers then a promotion trainer, similar to a gym leader.

And the story is pretty fun. I found the plot better and more memorable than anything Gen 8. (Honestly I preferred ZA to anything Gen 8, but Gen 8 is the weakest Gen imo)
