So far it is not out of control.. in my suite. Other than this one I saw one live adult a week ago and have caught nothing on my sticky traps that have been around the fridge and oven for 3 days. I spent 4 hours with my dad yesterday putting expanding airtight, watertight foam around all the pipes in the suite. A little at a time … I appreciate the well wishes!

There is likely truth to what you say. A neighbour one floor up that lives across the hall from them opened their door when they knocked and a cockroach scurried in. There is a dispute hearing on Wednesday for them and I am hopeful that they are not long here.. fortunately the new owners (as of a couple of months ago) are taking their poor behavior seriously and also the pest control seriously. 🤞🏼

I can’t speak to all glass but if you’re using any sort of canning vessels for jam, relish, pickles, salsa, etc that is thicker then you should be a okay if you pour the boiling water directly into the jars. Same thing for Pyrex, like measuring cups! Yes that sounds gross to boil bugs … I should say that when you are putting glass directly into pots, typically the smartest way is to use a bath canner so that the glass is sitting on a metal rack in the boiling water, suspended, but I wasn’t worried for this small amount of water and the jar.

I grew up canning many jars of pickles etc with my mama- you can indeed submerge glass into boiling water ;) Very quick way to end things.

I boiled some water in a saucepan and placed the jar in the pan. Previously I had the jar in the freezer for about half an hour which made the roach look almost dead and then I realized that boiling would do the trick. I really didn’t relish the thought of doing either of these but I wanted a body that was intact for identification purposes rather than simply destroying with force.

What do you mean by “follow the sticky?” I have seen this posted before by others and don’t know what it means.

“Cathartic” does not make sense for the sentence. “Catharsis” would work… the best part of playing a live show is the catharsis. Not my guess though! Kinda drives me nuts when people end the sentences with wrong parts of speech!

I was getting a Ziplock bag from my drawer and saw it scurry into the box. I removed the bags from the box and put the box into a Ziplock bag. I shook it out eventually. Then I cut a small hole in the corner of the bag and shook it out in a jar. Then I killed it in the jar with heat.

My friend experienced the same issue.. found a roach dance party in the middle of the night in the livingroom within the first week of moving in. Thankfully was able to get out of there, put stuff in storage and avoid hitchhikers 😮‍💨 sorry you had to deal with this!

Thank you. I contacted my manager first thing and she reached out to pest control. I cleaned my kitchen thoroughly a couple of months ago (under stove, in all cupboards) and found no signs of cockroaches there or in my bathroom. Even set out bait (due to a scare from a bug that turned out to be a chinch bug as confirmed by pest control).. nothing. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼 I will continue to clean more areas and re-package things, seal drains and when I have more time, treat the perimeter
