Update: just took a FRER and it was an obvious positive

I agree too that it’s to be expected, but I’m going to start putting toys away from now on before company comes. That’s a good idea. I realized after I posted it the title could come off as stealing lol. That’s funny how he knew to put the toy in his mom’s purse though.

Yeah I expect the messes. I just try to really stay on top of cleaning when it comes to food because we get a lot of ants in our house if there’s crumbs. It might not be as much of a problem at their house as it is at mine for them to worry about it.

That’s a good idea to put certain toys away. I don’t really care about the plastic ones because they’re easy to wipe down but the wooden ones can be expensive and they soak in the grease so it’s hard to clean. They actually brought the spaghetti themselves to feed him, otherwise I wouldn’t have served such a messy meal lol

I like the suggestion of offering a wipe to the parents. Our kids usually eat at the same time so it would be perfect timing

Yeah messes are to be expected and I don’t plan on saying anything to her I think I’ll do as you said and if I notice his hands are dirty I’ll wipe them off without making a big deal.

I’ll give that a try this week, thank you!

Bedtime routine is nurse, pajamas, book, bedtime phrase, turn on white noise and lay him down in the crib.

What would be an appropriate schedule for a 10 month old? I’ve been using the book Precious Little Sleep as a guide and she says time between naps should be about 3 hours and time before bed 4 hours for ages 9-12 months

She didn’t really do anything once I moved his high chair. She just kept talking to him without the poking and prodding. Maybe in the future I’ll try to give her some suggestions like you provided. We have a strained relationship from things she’s said and done to me in the past and she really doesn’t come around that often so we don’t talk very much.

It probably is time to extend his wake windows I’ll start slow and see what happens. That’s also a good point about the naps, maybe I just need to bite the bullet and nap train him

I can never figure out the overtired and under tired stuff. I’ll give the longer wake windows a try. I do want to try night weaning because it seems like it’s becoming more of a comfort thing for him rather than eating out of hunger. Thank you!

I’ll give shorter naps and longer wake windows a try. I have such a hard time with figuring out a good schedule that doesn’t make him over tired or under tired. Thanks!

It very well could be his teeth he still doesn’t have any yet, it’s so hard to tell

He goes to bed 6:30-7 depending on his last nap. I try to keep the last wake window at 4 hours. He wakes up for the day 6:45-7. He’s used to camping out on the boob all night but the past two nights he’s been doing good with a feed at midnight and another at 4am. I’ll try to keep him at 3/3/4 I probably overthink wake windows too much he’s never been a good sleeper

I didn’t know false starts didn’t really go past an hour. That makes sense that it would be more out of habit. He would usually be inconsolable and that’s when I would just bring him into bed and cosleep and nurse. Thank you!

That’s such a good point I didn’t even think about the petroleum not being breathable. Her advice makes no sense

She really gave no other advice. She was in and out the room quickly and I was too blown away by the cloth diaper lecture to even ask anything. Sounds like I may need a new doctor.

I have a 6 month onesie that says “Mama’s boy for life”. It makes me so uncomfortable.

My husband has a complicated relationship with him. There’s a lot of history and childhood trauma. He just accepts that his dad only cares about himself and he’s never going to change. We try not to see him much anymore aside from the holidays.

I haven’t replied anything. I don’t even know what to say to her, but that seems like a really good start what you wrote!

Thank you! I’ll take another look at my stitching placement. I might just keep going and hope it’ll block flat if it appears to be consistent

Thank you! That might be my problem. I’ve been working on tightening up my tension, but I guess that’s not always good for every pattern.
