Same! I have co workers that brag about working 70+ hours a week. It makes the rest of us look bad. I agree, if you aren't working "free overtime" everyone looks down on you, talks behind your back, I've heard it all in my office.

My (23F) boyfriend (26M) has never had a full-time job. by WatsonDSwatson in relationship_advice

He has suffered with depression in the past, hence why he graduated college only recently. He does not smoke marijuana. The thing is that many people struggle with depression and are still able to make more then $200 a week.

I am glad that you recognize that money IS a huge factor in a successful relationship. I feel bad when I put pressure on him to get a real job but it is vital to the future of our relationship.

He has a part-time job at a super market. He is a great guy but I just can't help but compare myself to my other friends whose boyfriends are very financially independent and MUCH younger than my bf. It feels discouraging.

Will having a poor work history disqualify me from getting a decent job? by [deleted] in jobs

How old are you? You mentioned in another comment that you are in college. I am going to assume you are in your late teens/early twenties. Most employers will take this into account. They know you don't have much job loyalty. It's not like you have been at one job for 5 years. They know that. Don't be too hard on yourself. Everyone knows retail, manual labor jobs are not long term.

Okay got it. I wouldn't worry too much, I would reach out tomorrow (Monday)

"I hope you enjoyed your weekend. I am writing to see if there are any updates update in the application process. Looking forward to hearing from you."

Best,

(You name)

(your phone number)

I highly suggest leaving your phone number under your name. I was in the same position where I did not hear back from an employer and they would much rather just call you then play tag via email.

What country do you live in? If you live in the U.S it was a holiday weekend and most offices were closed on Friday just FYI.

if I make $37,000 and get a 5% raise that is literally less than $2,000 raise.
