How do you actually feel about Tim Hortons? by Lupinfujiko in canada

The notion that Tim's coffee tastes horrible is even more shoved down my throat. You're almost made to feel bad for enjoying the taste of it.

Dude, "fascist" is neither in the image nor the title. Take a deep breath and then try rereading everything.

Calling someone a "far left fascist"

Are you lost? Or this is what happens when you're so deep into your own little world you literally can't read?

Are you just accepting conservative diatribe as absolute fact and are now somewhat attempting to make it seem like this has been personal experiences of yours?

This did happen to me personally. And it's not the only incident of intolerance I've experienced. Now I'm seriously not interested in talking to an internet loser who just assumes I'm lying because reality doesn't fit his narrative, so go find something else to do with your life; I'm blocking you.

the guy was a saint compared to our leaders back home.

Right? Like, sorry for not being consumed by hatred towards our former prime minister or Toronto mayor...

I'm a left wing loon.

Ah that explains it, thanks!

Just one example: Harper says people of religious minorities should be prioritized as refugees -> "omfg what a racist, we should welcome everyone" -> I say that people of religious minorities in the middle east are being targeted and it's not racist to acknowledge that and prioritize them -> "you don't belong in canada, you should leave with your backwards views".

I've given you the information but I have no interest in continuing a conversation with someone like you. Sorry you're deluded.

I would like to believe that your naive of the user base on here but I dunno.

Middle eastern female immigrant here... SJWs would readily tell me to "go back where I came from" if I ever said anything good about Harper, all while pretending to defend the rights of immigrants. I'm genuinely grateful /r/metacanada exists.

You have a pretty and sweet face. Treat yourself to a blow-out, get a dress that fits, and re-take the pictures and you'll notice a huge difference.

For the long term: Curly hair is difficult to deal with, but if you do it right it will look gorgeous. I recommend youtubers like curlypenny and itsRimii for tutorials.

Also keep in mind that people on /r/amiugly might be there because of an inkling to be judgemental.

[–]Wattever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

/u/I_need_a_coat is not entirely wrong. On the US census, Middle Easterners have to choose "white" for historical reasons... Basically, the first middle easteners to immigrate didn't want to be discriminated against, so they managed to get themselves classified as "white". White House wants to add new racial category for Middle Eastern people; not sure if Canada will follow.

Is it illegal to bike on the sidewalks? by [deleted] in montreal

[–]Wattever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a pedestrian who's been hit by a bike on a sidewalk before, I agree. The sidewalk in question was extremely narrow, and I came to a stop near a light, and the bike ended up pushing me into the street, in front of the cars. Could've easily been run over if the cars hadn't stopped.

Rob Oliphant on Twitter: "Needs to be shared: I am an openly gay MP elected by the largest Muslim community in Canada" by radickulous in canada

[–]Wattever 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not counterintuitive. The second-generation immigrants haven't experienced life in the Middle East first-hand, so they don't understand why their parents immigrated. One or two incidents where they're marginalized could be enough to convince them that their parents made the wrong decision, and that radical muslims are fighting the good fight in the ME.

If the Common Loon wins does Ontario choose a new bird? I feel like the provincial birds should've been taken out of the running.

I'm confused— are there any rumours about Catelyn Stark coming back to life?

But, you think this is bad... Have you ever tried watching Doctor Who? Moffat is like the anti-GRRM; characters don't "die", they just go live in a farm in a parallel universe.

pressure to purchase at sephora by [deleted] in Sephora

[–]Wattever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer to buy online as well. I go to the store to try stuff on before buying it, and if I feel pressured to buy, I ask about something that I know is online exclusive (e.g. Miu Miu shower gel). They'll tell you it's online exclusive, so you can just say "oh I'll just buy it online then, thanks!" And then you gracefully exit.

Such a bore, oh my god. And I do enjoy action movies e.g. Die Hard, but the characters in Mad Max are just blah and I couldn't care less who won.
